Carnethy 5. Set out a bit too hard to avoid getting caught up in the start and lost more places than I would have liked up the first hill. Fighting into the wind after that. Never really feeling like I was running hard but going as well as I could. Perked up a little on the Carnethy climb and had a reasonable final descent.

Disappointed to be over the hour but there were only 18 under this year. Less than even the very snowy years we've had recently and some folk saying it was the worst weather they'd done it in so not too bad. Position and people I was around was about expected given current fitness. Didn't feel like I was climbing overly well and given I've only ever been good at climbing that doesn't make for good hill race results. Training has been good the last little while though so I'm sure it'll come with time

Easy Hough End lap before heading back home. Taking advantage of the near 4 hour train ride to catch up on the log. Was having some calf niggles from the big road mileage but things have calmed down since I cut down a little bit and rediscovered my love of the trails and mud down by the Mersey

CR Track session. Keeping it fairly relaxed tonight with carnethy at the weekend. 8X1k but kept it controlled and mostly at 3:20/3:21. Left Ben and Pete to battle it out a bit ahead
