Run 1: 3:00 rolling steady road run; easy for the first 2hrs and then shoot for marathon pace for the final hour.
Note: Not exactly what was prescribed. We were in VT for the weekend -- so, my run needed to be on a 7-mile loop on a hilly, dirt road with some packed snow (but good footing). It was in the teens and windy. My new bladder pack froze after 1-mile -- so, this turned into my very first 3-hour run without a drop to drink . . . and carried 70 ounces on my back the whole way. Therefore, pace was slow but the run felt like a victory.
