OK, I'll admit it: I love my bike (even though it is a mountain bike, has poor back brakes, no front brakes and sometimes sounds more exhausted than me after a longer ride!). Intensity between flat-out (mainly on earlier sections) and zero (at lights, junctions etc). Started 1530. Just yellow top and shorts today, as that bit warmer. Hail, shortly after starting, left orange-red patches on fore-arms and legs, but marks are gone now! Accidentally ended up following slip-road onto A34 (no shoulder...). Tried to get off dual carriageway at first possible moment, but found that the road I took was a cul-de-sac, so had to rejoin A34! Tinge of threatening cramp in left-calf when kicking off from ground again. Messed around city centre streets. Back of cycling top is covered in oily-muck - glad I wasn't wearing rucksack today.
