Running long (GAAF run) 43:35 [3] 5.08 mi (8:35 / mi)

Run: I ran from McVeigh gym around GAAF and back to McVeigh gym. Upon arriving I cooled down for about 5 minutes, waiting for my hr to get below 120, and then I conducted accelerations (sprints) on the grass.

Comments: The run felt slow. I feel I need to increase my pace on the long run. Lois assures me that I will increase my speed with the sprints and hills.

Sprints: I conducted sprints following my run around GAAF. I allowed myself approximately 5 minutes to rest before the sprints.

I ran 5x 100m sprints. The following were my times: 1) 17.01, 2) 16.27, 3) 15.83, 4) 15.12, and 5) 15.18.

Comments: I feel that these times are very slow and should be increased. The 100m were paced out by me. I don't believe I am off by much, but I will be moving to the track to get a more specific distance.

Swimming intervals (Soldier's Field House) 39:11 [3] 1.0 km (39:11 / km)

Swim: Soldier's Field House at 0530 in the morning. I attempted to swim 100m free style intervals, but the times provided included on a couple of laps me resorting to the breast stroke.

100m Times: 1) 3.22.71, 2) 3.28.9, 3) 3.20.08, 4) 4.02.39, 5) 4.23.10
Swam 1x 50m free style: 1) 1.14.00
Swam 2x 100m free style: 1) 3.28.16, 2) 3.31.96
Swam with kick board 2x 50m: 1) 2.16.88, 2) 2.14.59
Swam 1x 100m breast stroke: 1) 3.42.71
Swam 1x 50m free style: 1) 1.49.88

Comments: I did not keep track of my time between intervals. While conducting my swim I was interrupted by a woman who insisted on swimming in the middle of the lane we were sharing.

Bicycling (Short ride) 46:42 [1] 12.1 mi (3:52 / mi)

Bike: I was restricted on time today. I wanted to spin without much fatigue. This was a very easy ride.

Comments: I should have pushed it out a little harder and spinned for another 45 minutes.

Run: Conducted a 7.461 mile run. Ran from Miller Hill to old Madigan and back. I then conducted 5 hill repeats.

Hills: Ran 6 hill repeats. I waited until my hr was below 120 before running the hill again. I allowed approximately 10min between the long run and the hill repeats.
1) 51.80, 2) 55.60, 3) 59.58, 4) 55.72, 5) 56.24 and 5) 55.16.
