Decided to do the first loop after all, but skipped 15 at the end since I didn't feel like crossing the river again and the lack of a flag as well. The training went pretty terrible, I never felt like I actually got to open up and run. The general feeling of sloppiness also contributed to be not feeling too good about this. Granted I never actually do to well in the dark orienteering. I think when I run on Saturday I'm going to bring my new compass and a map with me, because today it didn't feel natural at all when I was orienteering.

Ran out to tue's falls, I was sliding all over the place on the muddy trails so in my infinite wisdom I climbed up the cliffs along the edge of the valley up to the trails running along the top. Luckily on the top they were not muddy just incredibly icy so I ran around up there eventually ran down to the tracks and ran up the escarpment from the tracks once and headed back.

Felt it might be good to warm up a bit if I was going to run hard

Hard km on the icy roads by my house to figure out what a 3min/km pace is since I'll probably do track this year. I was running a good pace other then part way through when I had to skate across a parking lot after I dodged a car running off the road and then slowing down to turn around and head back up the road.
