Easy run to shake out the legs. I've been struggling with sleep so I'll aim to take a nap and load myself up on caffeine before the race

Only going log 30 since I took multiple breaks to the toilet

orienteering - General 17:51 [5] 4.1 km (4:21 / km)

Shortest distance which I definitely didn't run as I took a couple questionable routes and I took a 1 minute detour to the wrong control. First reaction was that was a disaster, I might retire from orienteering. Went for my pissed off cool down, got back checked the scoreboard and saw Emma podiumed so I forgot about my race, but later decided 57th wasn't terrible for a crappy race.

Pretty disappointing. Physically felt good, just made 15 minutes of mistakes. Looking at them, I don't think any were technical mistakes but mental. All the mistakes seemed to come from losing focus and track of where I was in the middle of the leg. Maybe I just don't have the attention span for long distances.
Also straightline distance since the start guy took my watch from me

Went for a walk through the long, so just some drills and accelerations

Middle training, started hard and then slowed down to an easier pace

A final hard 6 or so minutes hard (or just to finish the last 3 controls in some more open forest). Then 3 hard 200m or so intervals. Now I just have to deal with 2 days of no training

Took the middle terrain harder, some fast open chucks but the green on this map was a bit thicker and more chaotic. Went alright, only made 1 big mistake but relocated quickly.
11 AM

4 200m accelerating throughout. Just did them as jogging back on the sandy roads to the car

Easy sprint map, accidentally started accelerating through the first few controls but forced myself to slow down
