Not the most interesting terrain in the world, but there is actually tapes out so I figured why not. Dumb mistake to 13 when I hit an unmapped rock pile before the control and wandered around a bunch. Not much motivation so jogged the next couple legs, before deciding to run again. Another big mistake to 19 when I stupidly ran over the trail I was looking for leaving 18. So started jogging again.

Bailed halfway through. Legs feeling sore and heart rate feeling high. Worth noting I ate a bunch of candy for breakfast so I can’t imagine that helped.

I generally don’t feel too good during the first training session of the day, so I’m thinking that either means I do a terrible job stretching/rolling or I need to start doing morning shake outs before workouts.

Solid orienteering apart from control 10. I thought I saw an openish hill to the right and abandoned my bearing. Should have just trusted my compass until I hit the hill.

It is also worth noting that I slashed my eye on a branch on the way to control 2, so I slowed down there. I also stopped on my way to the finish, because I tripped over a metal fence/wire and managed to make it a couple meters before I came to a sudden stop when I learned it had somehow looped it's way around my ankle.
