Blake Fell race.


Cap serving me well ;)

Start was fair tame, no-one sprinting off which was nice so just tried to keep from blowing up for the first few km. Running with Dan all the way up forest track, hit the fell which was steep and he powered up Sharp Knott and I was just hanging on. Off that and up Blake he started walking and I just kept on plodding up getting back past him, legs feeling sore by this point but wanted to hold back for the rest of the race. Lost most time on the section from Blake to Owsen fell, no good lines through the bog off Blake and then veered off line to the top of Owsen. Dan just behind for all this section, then infront by the top of Owsen. Bailed it down the final hill, falling and rolling and getting back up, passing Dan and 6th place guy, but legs fairly shot so couldn't keep up the manic pace for very long. Hit the fields at the bottom and just held Dan off into the finish.

Legs didn't feel awesome but still an alright race and great fun. Heart rate monitor fell off after the climb which was annoying!

Phys testing at Crewe. Did worse than last year; only just got into 19kph and graphs have had a healthy upwards shift... i.e. a higher heart rate for all paces... ah well, work to get done.
