Hiking 4:00:00 [3] 8.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

Winter hiking up Mount Moosilauke, one of NH's 4000 ft mountains. Really fun and really cold.

Other 40:00 [3]

Intramural basketball game. We lost along the lines of 52-31 but I scored! Fun all around. I'm always surprised at how much a workout basketball is.

The plan was to run before the game, but my physics lab report got in the way :( those things always take at least 7 hours to complete and I still had a couple hours to go by the early evening when the runners left.

Running 20:15 [2] 2.02 mi (10:01 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Opted for a super short super easy shake out run after a solid 15min of stretching. My right hamstring is tight tight tight from the workout yesterday.

Track workout!! Woooo!

4x 800m. I really had no idea what pace to go for since I haven't done a workout in forever, and as I started I realized that my watch doesnt show the current lap time - just the overall time. So I need to mess with the settings to figure it out for next time.

Splits: 3:14, 3:15, 3:06, 2:59.

I didn't realize how much I sped up on the last two, and I didn't realize I was in decent enough shape to be running any faster than 3:20. So I'm pleased with this workout. Time and distance doesn't include running back to IV from the track.

Running 52:53 [3] 5.89 mi (8:59 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Around the Fens and up another road that I'm not familiar with... I'm not a fan of the road/street running all the time, especially with the busy traffic. However this was fun because it was the furthest I've run for quite a while!

Skiing at Loon Mountain. It wasn't great but still fun. Warm day so not icy until after it cooled down in the afternoon.

Running 43:21 [3] 4.18 mi (10:22 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

First day with club running! I'm really excited to be running with a group of people again and racing soon! This was a very easy conversational pace, getting to chat with some of the other runners.

Other (Basketball) 1:30:00 [3]

Basketball = fun
Two large blisters on the bottoms of my feet = not fun
10 PM

Strength 40:00 [3]

Pyramid core (it's been a while since I've done this but I'm much better at the push-up part now!)
3x 10x15lbs bicep curls
3x 30x15lbs calf raises
3x 10x12.5lbs dumbbell flys
3x 10x20lbs tricep extensions
3x 10x12.5lbs shoulder press
3x 10x 45 degree backhyperextension

The back exercise is definitely difficult and it hurts towards the last one or two, but my back isn't hurting at other times, which seems to be a good thing. Im going to keep it in my routine for another week or so to make sure if it's helpful or not. Also I found out the name from a sign on the gym wall. "Hyperextension" doesn't sound good, but like I said, I think it's helping.

Running tempo 33:37 [4] 4.0 mi (8:24 / mi)
shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

2.5mi warm up, 1mi tempo, 0.5mi cool down

I find that it's easier to do workouts on the treadmill than just a long run because I dislike the treadmill and want to go faster to get it over sooner.
6 PM

Strength 56:00 [3]

3x 10x10lbs bicep curls
3x 30x10lbs calf raises
3x 1min wall sits
3x 10x15lbs tricep extensions
3x 10x7.5lbs dumbbell flys
3x 10x15lbs shoulder press

3x 20x70lbs adductors
8x65lbs, 7x65lbs, 6x65lbs bench
3x 10 lower back extension

2.5min planks

I've been having lower back pain, so I figured trying to strengthen it would be good. I'll do the lower back exercise for a week or so to see if it helps at all.
