Running 46:23 [3] 5.44 mi (8:32 / mi)
slept:9.5 shoes: Black Asics Gel-Excite 4

Felt pretty sick last night - killer headache and overall just exhausted. I felt better this morning, but got worse throughout the day. Thought about taking the night off, but training > rest and I'm taking vitamins and drinking tea and trying to get good sleep. Slept a lot last night. This felt a little fast for being a bit sick, but I'm glad I got it in.

Stretching 10:00 [1]

Late night because 11pm kan jam and a lot going on before that in the evening.
Talked to an engineer who works on renewable energy projects for about 45 minutes which was cool. He had some good advice and thoughts that he was happy to share with me. It seems like many professionals are excited to talk with college students. That's been my experience at least. And it's really good, because I have no idea what I'm doing or where I'm going, so talking with people and hearing their experiences and thoughts is very enlightening and helpful.

Running 2:26 [2] 0.25 mi (9:44 / mi)
shoes: Blue Asics Gel-Excite 4

From the t to Harvard Stadium. I was worried I would be late
2 PM

Running warm up/down 19:26 [2] 2.41 mi (8:04 / mi)
shoes: Blue Asics Gel-Excite 4

Butttt the races were late and I had plenty of time. Nice warmup with a few of the other peeps on the team

Running race 6:15 [5] 1.6 km (3:54 / km)
shoes: Blue Asics Gel-Excite 4

Don't really know what my time was, but it was substantially over 6:00. This first race was a test, and I failed it. 0%. Very frustrating. But also motivating. I need to channel this energy into drive. I'm doing this again in a month or so, and the goal is to pass.

Running warm up/down 8:44 [2] 1.0 mi (8:44 / mi)

4 PM

Running 7:19 [2] 0.51 mi (14:21 / mi)
shoes: Blue Asics Gel-Excite 4

Running from the bus stop to orienteering. Ugh. The orienteering training started at 3pm and by this point it was after 4. Frustrated. After a disappointing race, I missed my first bus at Harvard since I wasn't familiar with the tunnel and making my way around. Then I had to stay super vigilant on the bus to be on the lookout for my stop so that I could request it. Got off on the right stop thank goodness. At least I got to chat with my sister during the ordeal.

Orienteering 15:32 [3] 1.17 mi (13:17 / mi)
17c shoes: Innov-8 X-talon 212

Vilppu was already out picking up controls by the time I got there. Put on socks and changed shoes quickly, then went out. After my not-so-great afternoon, and feeling frantic from trying to make it to orienteering, this wasn't great. I wasn't very focused. The actual training designed by Becky was great though, and I wish I had been there 100%. It's a small park, but a nice one. I may make the trek out there again sometime when I have no time constraints to do some training.
Afterwards, had pizza and a debrief at the Hall house. Becky gave goal setting sheets. I already have some goals written down, but I think this follows the process a little more, so I'll articulate my goals with that too.

Alpine Skiing 3:00:00 [1]

Loon Mountain, NH. Brought Dylan with me, and he was on black diamonds by lunchtime. Not too shabby for his first day ever on skis.

Agility 35:00 [3]

I feel more springy and it's only been about two weeks!
7 PM

Running 29:57 [3] 2.52 mi (11:53 / mi)
shoes: Blue Asics Gel-Excite 4

To, at, and from Reggie Lewis. I definitely ran further than 2.5 miles, but most of it was indoors on the 200m track so I'm blaming the watch.

Agility 35:00 [3]

Ha so much for yesterday. But on a side note, today I finally got up and going early! Woo!
7 PM

Nordic Skiing 46:07 [3] 2.45 mi (18:49 / mi)

First weekly ski race! Conditions were very loose sugary snow so kinda tough but still lots of fun. I'm not sure how far the actual race part was, but it was 4 laps and I finished in 23:36. Did 1 and a bit of a lap to warm up, and 1 lap to cool down after. Was close to two other women (Hannah and Katie) for the last couple laps in the race, and pushed hard to stay with them. I need to work on my form because I think it's a big factor. I guess that'll get better with more skiing though.
