Mount Baldy with Rose, except Rose didn’t make it all the way, and looking at where Baldy actually is, it seems like I didn’t make it all the way either. Guess I should have brought a map! Still signed my name in the log at the top of something, so at least I still got a peak today.

Wow, I'm a little sad to be reminded that Team Trials were going to be today. Was so excited to orienteer in the Okanogan again! I think combining USA & Canada for the trials was a great idea, and I hope that it happens again in future team trials.

I don’t know how, or when, or why, but somewhere along the way, I acquired a fear of snakes. Sometimes when I run, all I think about is when I am going to stumble upon a rattlesnake. This was one of those runs.
Of course, I have not stumbled upon a rattlesnake ever. But I suppose it is going to happen someday.
My giant blister from yesterday popped partway through this. Yuck.

Arduous pack test for working this summer. It’s 3 miles of walking with a 45lb pack, and needs to be done in 45 minutes. But the real kicker is that you have to walk, so at least one foot must be on the ground at all times. I think there’s an actual physiologic limit to how quickly you can walk (leg length probably plays a big role), and I don’t think I could have gone much faster than I did! Supposedly the fastest person who’s tested with BPM this month took 30 minutes. I don’t understand how a person can WALK 10 minute miles.

2nd story patient rescue tactic. Haven’t been logging this training, but after not doing any department stuff for over a month, coming back to it reminded me that there’s some substantial strength training involved.

Test run. Imagined some tenderness at about 1 mile in, but didn’t have any real pain at all. The real test might be tomorrow morning. If there’s pain, I’m setting up an appointment with a doc.

Core with my roommate!
