Sunday Feb 7 #

11 AM

Running 46:15 [3] 9.18 km (5:02 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Paradox 5 2021

New lap taking in the Lordswood Greenways
Out through the Cemetary, then round the Lordswood Greenways towards Sainsburys and back through Millbrook
Felt pretty good until the hill up to the hospital. After that I felt knackered and like my legs had nothing to give. If I had realised the pace I would have made Nicole slow down a bit more. I thought we were going a bit slower, so at least my knackered run pace is actually alright! Has been a few big days in a row: strength work, hills session, long ride, run. Saturday my knees and ankles and legs were pretty painful again. Has been hurting a bit some of the work mornings this week as well.

Saturday Feb 6 #

10 AM

Cycling long 2:58:46 [3] 76.68 km (2:20 / km)

Very misty ride with Nick then tempted into the sunny Forest for more

Snowdrops out on the verges. Need to figure out my fuelling for longer rides. Three cereal bars maybe not enough. Cramping up in the last half an hour again. Great route, some new roads and the surfaces were pretty decent the whole way. Really liked the bit towards Dean and West Tytherley. Nice to get out with someone else. I got dropped on the hills this time, rather than my usual of dropping Nicole.

12 PM

Running intervals 45:26 [4] 8.99 km (5:03 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Paradox 5 2021

Textbook Type 2 fun - first hills session in over 2 years! At the Sports centre
6 long hills reps up the track between the two cricket pitches and 3 short up to the first bend on lamppost hill. A bit slippy on the long reps and felt tired on the short (used to fly up that hill). Really heavy rain at times and hail for some of it. Breathing felt a bit tight on a few of them. Otherwise mainly felt hard work due to the weather. Inspired by the possibility of assisting with a JNC attempt this summer.

Post work lap to the Common
Was in pain again this mornining which was a bit sucky (same again Thursday). Decided I should get out for something and see how I get on. Had thought I'd do 30 mins but did a bit extra in the Common. On one of these runs I could feel my left knee a bit.

Wondered if eating more veggie food in January and more strength work is causing more muscle soreness. Will try to have more protein and iron
