Exploring the Dirty Drive
Parked at Lordswood, over to Chilworth, down to Hiltingbury, along the aptly named Dirty Drive to Baddesley and then back up the back road to the science park.
Great to explore somewhere new so close to home (current and parents) that I have never been. Felt like an adventure and miles away from Soton. A really nice logical loop that is predominantly offroad.

Out and backs on the Greenways
Thinking about the book that I borrowed from Jonathan. Massaging those legs and taking in the 'special' air of the Greenways. Serenaded by the roads. Legs a bit tired after yesterdays ride and the weeks activities but just taking it steady thinking of the Ethiopian runners in their Forests.

Long ride with Marko
Met at IVCP, then out to Upham, up then down to Warnford. Long climb up to the top of Old Winchester Hill then back down to Droxford and Bishops Waltham. Back home via Mark's and central Southampton.

First time on the road bikes riding with Marko. Was unsure how quick he would be (he hasn't ridden as much as we have recently). Moving okay together to start with then got a small gap towards the end of the first hill (was a really gradual climb). A really great road from there down to Warnford, great views north over the South Downs and parallel to the South Downs Way for a bit. A rapid descent then a long dragging climb up Old Winchester Hill. Got a big gap and just kept working at an okay intensity to the top. In the end took 2 mins out of him which I am quite happy about. Stop at the top to enjoy the view. I could see over to the Soton Docks, seemed like a long way I had cycled!

Then cycled over to Bishops Waltham for a cake stop. Felt desperate for the loo and some faffage trying to find somewhere. Then cycled back to Mark's to drop him off. Could tell he wa struggling and was trying not to drop him too much. I was feeling good to the Itchen bridge but did feel a bit tired on the cycle home. Had 750ml energy drink, nakd bar, pasty and yum yum as fuel. Only a bowl of porridge before so maybe should have had more pre-read? Or a few more things during

Longdown lap of the heaths with John
Up to the Trig point for the view then back along the incredibly muddy edge from Ibsley. Some random tightness e.g. mid quad after. May try to do some rolling and gentle stretching later. Always good to get out with John. Some discussion about the Lakes and our future plans. Looking forward to getting back up in June
