| a bit of a Wingsted session with W&W on trails on Änggårdsbergen. 4 x 4mins with 2mins jog recovery. Pretty warm day so fortunately Werner was struggling, cause my lungs still aint real good so i wasnt running the quickest. still, feeling much better than yesterday, not as much coughing...
found myself 3 meters above the ground at one stage and wondered why, then saw the snake down on the track and realised my body had jumped, pure reflex. the king pythons you buy at the school canteen are more dangerous but. good session, feeling much better afterwards. | ||

| Good session from candyman and candyladys place in sheffield, up Porter Brook to Burbage Moor. Real nice run. The first half of the session was uphill, so instead of just turning around and doing the rest on the rough downhill i split the session into 2 parts, and ran back down and did the second half on the flat. | ||

| very short warm up, the warm down was the last part of the course... didnt really feel like running, didnt sleep a single second thanks to nettle legs. even a couple of pints at the golden cross couldnt put out the fire. | ||

| Harvester Relay, dubbed as Englands 10mila. I was in SYO's 1st team, and we ran the B relay which was only 5 legs. I ran last and cruised around, and made a big mistake on a control on a pit in some green, plus lost more time on some other similar controls... the first half of the course was real enjoyable.
Craney, Nails, RobB, Sprotty, etc were in the SYO 2nd team and they won the A race. at least they were out there giving it a go. | ||

| At Bloom Wood, my first orienteering experience in Blighty. started quite good, but started making mistakes about 2/3 of the way around. just small ones, trying to hit controls sitting down low in pits surrounded byt all manner of under vegetation. pretty fast and easy and good fun except for the nettles. finished a disappointing 2.5mins behind Nails. | ||

| In the same area as the qual. Started in 7th, in the middle of a small group. We all (4th to 8th place) came together by the 3rd control, then i tried to break away up the hill to 4th. i f*cked it, but so did all the "lads" behind me, we prob lost a minute or so. we then had an awesome head-to-head match all the way to the end. i thought barrable would get me but i got the last few well and got a gap on him to finish 4th, we never made up enough ground to get close to RobB in 3rd, and Craney and Nails were battling for the win on their own (Craney got it). All super fun except for the nettles. | ||

| Middle distance in the same area as yesterday. Still feeling ordinary. Started fairly steadily and ran well for the first few controls, but then the bingo master called a number noone had, number 4. Ran around trying to find a small cairn (the only one on the map) in an area of young pines full of rock cairns and boulders with about 2m visibility, and people running around everywhere searching. i even heard stories of people standing still and holding their breath to listen for the beep of the SI unit. i only lost about 2mins but lost all my motivation. the map for the rest of the course was dodgy too - not sure if i didnt notice yesterday cause it was 1:15000 or we just didnt go into the dodgy areas... finished up 4mins behind emil lauri. now i gotta get healthy and back into the training. | ||

| woke up this morning feeling crap again, and almost decided not to go out to Ulricehamn. but figured i'd go and see how i felt when we arrived - the elitserien was on at the same time so there'd be something to watch anyway... of course i couldnt go all the way out there and not run so i ran ;) just cruised around really, felt ok but definitely not 100%, and had a really good race technically (besides 1 bad route choice) until the 16th, with only about 1.5km to go. probably the easiest control on the course and so i reckon i relaxed a bit, and made a 2.5min mistake. so f*cken annoying, goddammit.
we went to some cheapo shopping town after and i heard some girls talking english so looked around and one of them was anna jenkins. small world. not really though, she lives in jonköping. | ||

| at Mariestad. Well i still felt pretty ordinary but i aint Swedish so i ran anyway. Probably shouldnt have, and i wouldnt have missed anything. one of the worst courses i've run - easy, no route choice! just a running race, and my lungs didnt want to run fast. i made a tiny mistake on the 1st control, prob only lost 4 seconds, otherwise i was going as fast as i could. still didnt make the final, missed out by 4 seconds - i was 52 seconds behind Wingstedt who won my heat (and the final). pretty happy to sit ouot the final hactually as i really wasnt feeling up to it. drank coffee and ate negerbollar instead. | ||
