| Had to layer up lots to be able to persuade myself to go out into the dark and coldness to go for a run. However I think I may have overdone it a bit with the thermal, running top, arm warmers, thermal beanie, tights and running shorts combo. It isn't quite THAT cold yet. Actually enjoyed getting out for a run in the end.. at least I could forget about the mountain of assignments and revision to do over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I can fit in enough of these runs to keep feeling reasonbly 'fit' until I can get stuck into some training after exams. |

| Core and legs at home without squats. Easier at the moment to stay inside and do this for half an hour than go out training in the dark. |

| Pretty bloody tough. Hardest team with no boy subs... went from 3-1 up half way through the second half to 3-4 down with a few mins to go, to finally 4-4. Probably a fair enough result, as we got pretty sloppy in defence. Still unbeaten at least! |

| Long race on Mt Pearson.
One of the most enjoyable races I've run on Mt Pearson, and probably the best classic race I've had yet in M21s, even though I wasn't exactly looking forward to it beforehand. First time I've ever been into the north-west corner of the map.
Bit slow and sloppy to 2 (wasn't totally committed to it) and lost a bit of time to 4, but other than that was pretty clean and less lazy than usual for a long race. Robbie caught me after punching 11, which I probably expected to happen a bit earlier. Felt comfortable at the same pace as him up until 13 where he started pulling away a lot, especially on the hills. Concentrated hard on picking a good line through the bush and keeping in contact with the map while still trying to push hard, cause I knew that after 18 it would be pretty clean sailing home. Caught a lot of ground on Robbie just before 18 when he got stuck in some crappy green, but he ran off into the distance on the hill up to 18 which I really struggled up. I normally struggle during the last few kms of a long race, but was really happy with how well I pushed and nailed all the controls to the finish. Only lost some time trying to find an alternative place to cross the creek before 22 without going up to my neck, but didn't have any luck. |
