Bright 4 Peaks. Day 3. Feathertop via NW Spur.

CB1 had to force me out the door today. Legs were sore, struggled with breakfast and just wasn't in the mood. Missed the start because I went round the corner for a wee but couldn't squat.

Left with CB1 and enjoyed the morning jog up the creek. Did not like the downhill bits though, which didn't matter so much as we then hit the wall and went up, up, up. It was tough. Went up into the fog and grassy forest which felt a long way from anywhere. Enjoyed the section after the MUMC hut to the junction. It was a bit windy and cold heading up to the summit (my first time ever at the top of Feathertop, but yet to see the view) but remarkably calm at the top.

It was a long day out, coming back down via Bungalow again.

Bright 4 Peaks day 2. Mt Feathertop (to Fed hut).

This scarred/scared me a bit. Nice weather in Harrietville, but then a storm came through as we were going up the mountain. I bailed at one stage and headed back down, until I saw Jayne coming up. The worst had passed so kept going up with her. Slammed into a lot of people who were coming down and not getting out of my way. Not a happy camper when I made it to the hut. My legs didn't have it in them anyway, and I was hiking a lot more than last year.

Bright 4 Peaks Day 1. Mystic Hill.

A wet and slippery slide up Mystic, although it made coming down easier. Jayne's shoes and Clare's running tips saw me make it down much quicker than last year, although legs were struggling once we got on to the flatter fire trail at the end. Rob win's athlete of the day for his rendition of Happy Birthday as he passed me. Surprised to do about a 4 min PB on last year.

A year older but none the wiser - this resulted in me smashing my quads and struggling to get up the steps in our house (although getting up the remaining 3 mountains seemed to be easier).

Orienteering 15:00 [3]

O intervals around Princes Hill.

Legs had noooothing! Been struggling to stand up at work all day (got called an old lady once) as my glutes are stiff as from the TBA yesterday. Oh well. Good super technical courses - I need to do more of this!

Running 10:00 [3]

Warm up sprint route choice activity and short jog after intervals.

Running (pack hike - walking) 41:43 [3] 4.83 km (8:38 / km)

Woo, I need to have more faith in myself!

TBA for the year after finally getting my medical clearance by proving that I can breathe. Quickest I've done this, and it didn't feel toooo hard either (although the people who finished about 30s after me just looked like they were strolling and having a chat). Glad to be done with it for another year. Also glad I don't weigh 15kg more, because it slows me down.
