Orienteering 43:43 [3] 5.1 km (8:34 / km)

Aus Relay Champs, Mundoolun.

I was that person who wasn't in the changeover box when their runner came in. Disgraceful. Luckily the women's race didn't come down to a sprint finish like the men's.

Struggled up the hill to the first one. Then lost contact a bit on the longish let to 3. Good from then on. Felt like I was running fairly hard and happy I pushed on despite the heat (which usually shatters me).

Pretty tired by the afternoon though, and had to sit on the train station platform for about 30 mins (and eat 3 super biscuits) before I felt up to the walk to the hostel. Also chose the closest hostel, rather than the one I had planned to stay in which was a further 100m uphill.

Aus Sprint Champs. Griffith Uni Gold Coast.

Pretty nice getting to national champs by tram :) Wasn't really in the mindset for such technical orienteering, but got through ok. A few hesitations but no mistakes. A bit warmer than Melbourne.

Neighbourhood jog. Very slow and looking like Qld will be a huge struggle. Thank goodness there will be wildflowers!
