Running 1:20:00 [3] 13.5 km (5:56 / km)

Wanted to get out of town so took the bus to the 'Rat Saturday arvo.

Sunday morning long run around Creswick from St Georges Lake. Dave and I dragged each other round 80 mins. Wasn't toooo hot out early, but our brilliant idea of combining the run with a post-run swim proved excellent.

Felt ok at times and a bit slow at times. Little bit slower than the last few weeks but not fussed as it was hot and had a few hills.

Strava record (ok, so 1/3) for a segment called 'halfass' :)

Riding 59:27 [3] 22.26 km (2:40 / km)

Morning roll. Apparently my 70 min ride doesn't take 70 mins (time from Strava today, whereas usually I just guess from my watch and subtract a bit for traffic lights). Have to ride further next time.

Core strength/stretching 10:00 [3]

Did nothing all day so thought I should do some 10pm core. Turned into 11pm core when I stopped halfway through to book flights/enter for Tassie.

Running 35:16 [3] 5.7 km (6:11 / km)

Kathmandu training (again with coach Lucy).

Second hills session for the week felt surprisingly better than the first. Good little loop below the teardrop with downhill (which I tried to go hard on - improving downhill confidence and speed being one of my 2018 goals), flattish and then uphill efforts.

Nice evening for it! Also met Alice McNamara, stair climbing queen, who gave me a tip off of an accessible building in the city.

Note

Still open to theme suggestions, but this one from last year's Eurovision wrote itself...

Orienteering 33:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:30 / km)

Carlton Gardens Sprint o training.

Sufficiently close to work :) Was making some big navigation errors (route choice around out of bounds, crossing roundabout and going up completely the wrong street, heading to controls out of order) which was a bit silly.

Wasn't running super fast but didn't feel too bad.

Note

It's about time to start promotion of Melbourne Sprint Weekend 2018. Any suggestions for theme? Otherwise it might be Eurovision again...

Running 12:30 [3] 2.0 km (6:15 / km)

Warm up

Running 20:30 [3] 3.5 km (5:51 / km)

Hill intervals behind the lake. 8 total, 4 each way behind the naked man.

Legs had no zip in them and struggled to get them up the hills.

Right knee a little twingy at times, and left shin was a bit sore at the start.

Running 13:00 [3] 2.1 km (6:11 / km)
