Sunday Aug 11 #

Running 1:25:39 [3] 14.14 km (6:03 / km)

Midday jog around Yarra Bend. Legs feeling ok :) Although unsurprisingly the last few kms felt hard. Raining when I left home, but mostly sunny so had to carry my coat.

Did my calf exercises beforehand, and nothing hurt when I started running (but got a bit sore later).

Saturday Aug 10 #

Running 31:00 [3] 5.54 km (5:36 / km)

Arvo jog, focusing on form (had the metronome on again) and trying to see if the legs have any speed at all.

Found a little bit of speed, and did 5 x 400m on the Collingwood track. Might have to make more use of it!

No swim in the middle of the run today, unlike my recent ones :(

Radical Bay > Horseshoe, via a swim at Balding.

Walked out from Horseshoe to complete my mission of touching the ocean in all of the bays in the north east corner (finally made it to Gowrie).

Tuesday Aug 6 #

Still searching for the mysterious track behind Horseshoe Bay that appears on some maps and not others. Found some of it that went into the other side of the lagoon from where I'd walked in the morning, then gave up and went along the main beach. Further than I'd realised, but glorious all the same.

Monday Aug 5 #

The other mission was to run all the walking tracks on the island.

Dropped the Bakers at the ferry (or, they dropped me there), left my luggage at the hostel and bussed back to Picnic on the other side of the island to head out to West Point.

Definitely the flattest run of the week, but also the least interesting (first 3km on asphalt road, then the rest on gravel road). Still, the beach at the end was nice. Did some non-granite rock hopping, had a swim and some chocolate, and slowly plodded home. Legs are definitely not fast this week (although this is the longest run I've done in a long time!!).

Also found the Picnic Bay water tank on top of a hill on my way back (walking by this stage) for a lovely view of the not-quite-sunset.
