| Rode from Mauthausen to Krems. It was really nice in the morning along the river and thru the fields and villages, saw lots of cool things, however it started raining at lunch and didnt stop all day.
I was going to ride all the way to Vienna (80k extra) because I no dry clothes at all but I had a stack coming into Krems and decided there was no way Id get back before dark. Awesome stretch from Melk to Krems with steep hills covered in terraced vineyards and castles on top! I was rushing thru a bit though because It was so wet. | ||

| I borrowed Michaela Gigon's bike to ride from Linz to Vienna along the Danube. First I rode to the train station in Vienna then from Linz to Mauthausen along the Danube in the evening. | ||

| WOC long. Started well but was caught at 6. Went right on the long leg which was good but lost time in the beginning running in the wrong direction. Felt really tired after running up the steep to 13 and struggled a bit from there, Jo caught me and I couldnt keep up. Some mistakes too but never much more than 1 min.
Bit disappointing to be so far behind but not really too bad, I just have to be able to run faster for that long-probably my longest race. WOCs all over!! My right ankle is glad... | ||

Started quite well but lost a min or so on the long leg- direction was slightly off and I stopped early. OK in the green at the end but was quite hesitant on a few. Legs felt really tired at the end. Relived to make it, it was a pretty close heat. | ||

This was a really cool race even though I was a bit disppointed to stuff up. Didnt start so well, it was really tricky and i was pretty hesitant, then I caught the german girl who started 2mins infront and together we stuffed up no 6 by at least 3mins. I just didn't read the rock and didnt relocate well, I guess i wasn't careful enough. A few more misses before the spectator controll, then I did the last loop through the green well. Physically felt much better than I thought! 33rd. Luckily I had an early start so got to watch the rest of the race, and the other girls doing so well! | ||

| woc long qualifier. started well phzsicallı and navigationallı then died a bit in the middle of the course, it seemed quite tough and i think the nerves maıbe took some of mı energı. onlı had a little bit of trouble with a few, in particular 12 where i didnt slow down enough and ran to another controll in the green. verı relived to qualifı as i didnt feel like it was such a good run but reallı it wsnt too bad i guess.. | ||

| Model event for long qual, ran some downhill legs fast and tried to have good routing in anbd out of controlls, other than took it slow. Nothing unexpected, definately have to avoid anything yellow or hashed.
Feeling good for tomorrow, have my start time, even got a newhaircut! Cant wait! | ||

| Run from the accom, doing some intervals and reading a map in the slow sections. 6w/u 1on 2rec 1on 2rec 2on 10rec 3on 1rec 1on .5rec .5on 5w/d.
Didnt push body too hard but tried to get my legs going fast. Feeling really good and the legs are happy to have a few days out of the terrain. Cold shower afterwards..it was pretty hot out there! | ||

| Last session in the forest, back out on the map where we had the long race last weekend. Focussed on using compass especially entering and exiting controlls, was mostly pretty good, and its really important when theres so much vegetation. Feeling a little bit tired in the forest, ran some legs a bit harder and some sections easy. | ||

| Moravian middle race. Had a good run, was switched on and more careful coming into controlls. Didnt have controll descriptions and lost 1.5mins at one controll where I wasnt sure if it was the right number as the map seemed a bit off. All the other controls I was confident about, though had a bit of trouble finding one (40sec)
So couldve had a quicker time but technically a good run. Physically I felt tired especially at the start, I was pushing better after about 5mins so maybe I need to warm up harder? Still a bit iffy about track vs forest options even over short distances Third 30 secs behind two Ukranian runners | ||

| Moravian Long race. OK run, I thought I understood the map quite well but lost about 1min on 6 controls which is really not very good, mostly not being careful enough entering them especiall in the green, so silly avoidable mistakes. Also I think I ran in the forest when the tracks were better options on some legs. 9mins behind fastest swiss and 6 behind Jo so I have more confidence and just need to take more time/care to get things right.
Physically made a big effort to push hard running on tracks. Still felt good towards the end. | ||

It was quite hot so it felt quite hard. Good fun and the map was easy to understand with less detail than yesterday. | ||

| First run in Czech, middle distance qualifier for the Czech team, though i ran it for familiarisation not a race. Lots of vegetation detail which is a bit different. Clear is much slower than green and the ground was really rough. Got to see all features and even make a few mistakes (compass) | ||

Made bad mistakes on 2 and 3 (no plan and dodgy compass, was close but unsure and hard to relocate when thick) Ran better for the rest, though lost a bit in the green short legs, walked the long leg as I was a bit tired and then ran the last short legs faster. Had some Swiss girls around at the end which was good fun, running a bit faster.. they didnt really seem to orienteer any faster than I could. Physically felt tired on the hills. | ||
