Running warm up/down 12:00 [5]
shoes: Roc lite #3

Warm up legs which were feeling a bit tired.
Warm down consisted of jumping in the lake. Summer has started!

orienteering 32:35 [5]

Italian Middle Champs, Calaita.
Alpine terrain on the most beautiful day with a view of snow capped Dolomiti. Italians organise amazing events, one of the best arena locations today!

Goal was to spike every control and be precise with direction, push hard and not get negative about lack of fitness.
Very happy with technical aspect and spiked all except two controls: #11 I just missed but relocated fast (-20sec), and #16 I was very tired and drifted (-10sec).
Most time loss was on running speed. Lost over 2mins on the long leg, which included a brutal hill, and almost a minute in the last loop which was open running. I know how to fix that...

Warm up/down for sprint. Teeth stopped hurting just in time!

Italian Sprint Champs, Caoria.
Mix of old village and surrounding open land, with a run through and map turnover.
My goal was to choose all the right routes and execute them cleanly. I managed this on 16/21 of the controls. Made 4 very minor non-ideal routes and one mistake (#18) where I got confused and lost about 20 secs.
Otherwise I was just leaking time through lack of speed.

Drive to Süd Tyrol in the arvo, beauuuuutiful area full of greeness, lilac and apple blossom. Still feeling a bit under the weather and wisdom holes hurt when I tried running.
