Tuesday Jun 27

C • frankfurts 4
ORIENTEERING 40:00 [3]
In the Veinna forest down on the Danue., no contours to talk about and very wet under foot as it rained most of the night

Monday Jun 26

RUNNING 50:00 [3]
Went for a easy run with Blair in the forest around Oslo, no wonder those Norge`s are fit, if I had terrain like they do, I would be training in it every day as well

Sunday Jun 25

ORIENTEERING race 50:00 [5]
Relay, ran for Cassie`s club in there 3rd team, went out well, but then screwed up 2 controls in the flat green, team went from 39th to 44th out of 100
C • Practice needed 1

Saturday Jun 24

ORIENTEERING race 40:00 [5]
Long Distance today, 6.5k, Blair was doing Middle distance and had to do over 7k, one of the problem of running my age group, the courses are very short, better run today, came 3rd out of 150?, took out some ex World Champions on the way (-:
C • Criteria for running your age class? 1

MTB 1:20:00 [1]
Spent 2 hours riding around Halden town, and the old castle

Tuesday Jun 20

ORIENTEERING 30:00 [3]
Helped BJ put out controls for a training exercise in the forest around his clubhouse in Halden

Monday Jun 19

ORIENTEERING 30:00 [3]
Re ran the WOC 04 sprint courses, never thought I would be back at Vasteras again, but having got a lift to Norway with BJ after a night on the Jukola party boat, I was happy to run here again

Sunday Jun 18

ORIENTEERING 2:00:00 [3]
Jukola, it went better than I thought, I was worried that I was not the best choice for the long night, nearly talked myself out of running the leg, but once i got going, everything went well.
Biggest mistake was only 1 min, and that happened because I was running with Peter Ivars, and went to his control,
Bloody great event, will have to get back and do it again one day, but not next year
C • Good effort 1

Saturday Jun 17

Event: Jukola

ORIENTEERING 30:00 [3]
Model map for Jukola, couldnīt find anything, hope it goes better tonight

Friday Jun 16

ORIENTEERING 1:20:00 [3] 8 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Twister
Official Jukola training course 'Lakianummi' 8km, bit tired from the night before, went out easy, got caught by Blair and Axle, went a little harder and kept them behind me. Stopped for a while, then continued course, happy with how it all went
C • Bendigo O web site 5

Thursday Jun 15

Event: Forssa Games

ORIENTEERING 30:00 [3] 3 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Twister
Model map for Jukola, not as hard as I 1st thought it would be, Forssa this evening
C • Bill 2
ORIENTEERING 40:00 [3] 5 km (8:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Twister
Fossa games, 3.8 race, missed the 2nd, got caught by the next starter, but kept in front of them, some fast areas but most of the time hard to run as rocky under foot, just under 30 min, warm up before 10 min

Wednesday Jun 14

ORIENTEERING 40:00 [3] 5 km (8:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Twister
Out the back of the TuS clubhouse, easy run along tracks and across the bare rocks

Sunday Jun 11

RUNNING 1:30:00 [3] 18 km (5:00 / km)
Long run with the boys, I dropped out the back early on, and just as I was looking for the short way home, they turned and made it longer. Not to cold, but the wind was up, trying to rain, nothing there.
MTB 50:00 [3]
Nice ride around the back of the cemetery, throught Diamond Hill and along Spring Gully Creek with Clara.

Saturday Jun 10

ROAD BIKE 30:00 [3] 12 km (2:30 / km)
When I heard that the Bus was leaving at 11.30, I decided that I had better warm up a little before I got there. Nothing worse than getting out of the bus and having to run straight away
RUNNING warm up/down 30:00 [3] 6 km (5:00 / km)
Got to the run with plenty of time to warm up. Start was at 2.30, not 2 as I thought. warm down after run as well
ATHLETICS race (Charles Suffron) 24:55 [5] 6.5 km (3:50 / km)
Very nice cross country course, start on a race course, through some pine forest, along the edge of the lake, out and around a bit of rough country before returning to do last lap on race course.
Had a good battle with Paul Hayes and Frankie Shevlin, bet Paul but lost to Frank by 3 seconds.
Overall 5th in vets field, paul was 15 secs behind in 8th, great turnout of vets. Only just got infront of Geoff Lawford, well 30 secs, but he is running very well

Friday Jun 9

RUNNING 20:00 [3] 4 km (5:00 / km)
Around the Golf course

Thursday Jun 8

INTERVALS 16:00 [4] 3.5 km (4:34 / km)
Went up to the res to do my Clara reps, but the fences have all been fixed again, so had to do them elsewhere. Felt good, but hard to measure as on new area.
Note
Yesterday while riding, Toph and I meet Charles, who commented, how could we be training at such a nice time of day.
Today, as I was retuning from my reps (3.30) I was going to miss Fogga Bogga Rd area by going along Milton Ave, when who should I bump into but Margaret. Oh well, Busted again
C • Faugh-a-ballagh? 2
RUNNING warm up/down 34:00 [3] 7 km (4:51 / km)

Wednesday Jun 7

RUNNING 1:00:00 [3]* 12 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1
Lap of the res, 55 mins, ran a extra 5 mins to make the hour. Dont know what Brezza and Birchy where doing the other day when it took them 65 mins, Stevie Jones and I ran it in under 40 back a few years ago
C • hmm.. 11
ROAD BIKE 1:05:00 [3] 30 km (2:10 / km)
Toph and I went out around the juvinile and back to my place, not much point training with Toph, he leaves you behind all the time

Sunday Jun 4

ORIENTEERING long 2:10:00 [4] 18 km (7:13 / km)
shoes: Silva O shoes
Long O at Bostock Res, 4 loops, didnt go to hard, nearly was going to give it up when I picked up the 3rd (6.4k) map, but stuck to it.
Its nice running in pine forest, and also when it is softer on the ground, something we lack up here in Bendigo.
Km rate was not that fast, Big Ev ran 6.40's, but on the "short" 12k course
WIND TRAINER warm up/down 40:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Bike shoes
Set the bike up in the corner of the lounge room and watched last nights episode of The Bill
Gabriel has to go soon, (-:
C • the bill 15
Note
Another 5 hr weekend, things are going along nicely

Saturday Jun 3

WARM UP/DOWN warm up/down 10:00 [3] 2 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1
Easy run before the Bendigo local event, and after the Cross Country run
ORIENTEERING race 42:37 [4] 6.8 km (6:16 / km)
Bendigo Local event, went out easy and held it steady, error free, only difficulty was judging the scale in the mining areas.
ATHLETICS race 18:28 [4] 5 km (3:42 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1
Bendigo YMCA Cross Country race, went in it as a warm down, but that didnot last long, Leon caught me 30 secs after 1 k, then he didnt get away through the hills, so I took him back at 4k. But his kick is better than mine. Fairly happy with run, sore/tight calves.
ROAD BIKE 59:00 [3] 28 km (2:06 / km)
To lazy to do Bike in morning, so went out after races. Toph road to my place and we then went to the Keely boys place. Toph, Bryan and Leon had some surges between themselves, I kept out of it. Out around OTH, Tannery lane, Tophs and home.
Getting dark by the time we finished. and Cold.
