Sunday May 28

Event: Athletics Victoria Mountain Run (RACE POSTPONED)

ORIENTEERING race (Eppalock Sth) 1:20:00 [5] 13.2 km (6:04 / km)
shoes: Silva O shoes
State series event, went out chasing Toph and others, had Bruce and the flying Dane behind me, caught Toph after 15 mins, but could not Orienteer if my life depended on it. Brucey caught us after another 15 min, but then we wandered off course and the Great Dane flew by, not to be seen again.
Tried to put the pace on, but then Bruce returned the complement. So I decided that it was time to call it a day, and retired, not a good weekend at all, will have to get my mind back on the job
ROAD BIKE 40:00 [3] 20 km (2:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes
Went for a easy?? warm down ride with the BigL, but is doing sprints at the veledrome, a warm down? He can certainlly ride a bike, pity he cant Orienteer as well. Anyway, it was good fun to get out with the young bloke and teach him some common sense.
Note
5 hours for the weekend, I wonder if the body can handle this for another 2 weeks, if it can, I should be in good shape for WMOC

ROAD BIKE (Goose Neck) 2:00:00 [3] 58 km (2:04 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes
Did not want to get up and go with the 7 am bunch, bit soft when it comes to riding in the cold, got going at 8.30, felt a little lethargic going out the gooseneck, but caught up to Justin Lee at the neck, and road with him for the next 60 min.
Felt lots better towards the end.
C • u have 8 different training ac... 4
ORIENTEERING race (Mosquito Crk) 56:37 [4]** 8.1 km (6:59 / km)
spiked:6/14c shoes: Silva O shoes
Got well and truely done by Toph and Dave.
I had a bad day, to much on my mind, I normally roll through this country without any real doubt, but NOT today, I was a real novice, I wasn't consintrating on the task at hand. This area is certainlly 6 min/k country, if not a little faster
WARM UP/DOWN warm up/down 3:23 [2] 0.7 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Silva O shoes
Short warm down to make it to 60 min of running

Friday May 26

ORIENTEERING warm up/down (Putting out Controls) 20:00 [2] 3 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1
Bendigo Primary Schools Orienteering Championships today, 800+ kids where 700 did not know how to orienteer, when are they going to realise that it is not a treasure hunt.
Put out and collected Controls.
MTB 30:00 [3] 10 km (3:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes
Went for a ride, hadn't done much today, and all those young bucks are doing more training than me.
Flat trye after 30 min, no spare kit, so had to walk home.
WALK 20:00 [2] 2 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes
Flat trye, had to walk bike home, does this count as training??

Thursday May 25

MTB warm up/down 20:00 [3] 6 km (3:20 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1
Easy ride to and from the start of intervals

INTERVALS (Clara reps) 20:00 [4] 5 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1
A shortened version of the Mona rep, this was Clare Brownridge's bread and butter rep when she was my training partner in Bendigo, (hence the name), havent done them much since she shifted to Melbourne. 2x90 secs, 2x60, 2x45, 2x30, 2x15 = 8 mins, with equal time on float recovery.

Thought I had nothing much to loss, so went out hard and nearly managed to get to the track before turning for home, failed by 15 m to return to start place.
I think it was the more agressive float (-: that got me this PB for this course. Many of the trees that had fallen across the track have been cleaned up, so this may have helped as well.

Wednesday May 24

RUNNING 55:00 [3] 11 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1
Lap of the Spring Gully res, did it easily, except felt like I was dragging along. 1st time I have done any running training in the last 5 weeks, it can only get better from here
WIND TRAINER 35:00 [2] 20 km (1:45 / km)
Spinning on the pedals while watching the 7.30 report, is the most boring training session that can be, but then, when else can you fit it in, there is just not enough light in the day. :-(
C • most boring session 2
