Out to Shelford along the DNA path to get to my lift and back afterwards.

Really nice to get into some proper forest, and actually orienteering reasonably well, a few bananas going out of controls but was at least looking at my compass. Annoyingly 3 of the controls were significantly in the wrong place so wasted a lot of time looking for these. Running at a reasonable pace.

Feeling tired so easy cycle round through Toft etc, legs felt better by the end.

Long run with Rebecca, felt like I was absolutely crawling, nothing in the legs and so hot. Exams start tomorrow so will be trying to take an easier week next week.

Jogging recovery
Legs feeling so tired, probably due to running in the morning rather than the evening, so not really feeling very fast, hopefully will have more in the legs tomorrow.

From Pem to tea run, tea run, to Medwards for circuits and then back to Pem afterwards. Legs tired and shins feeling a bit sore, need to stretch out tonight and will make sure to warm up on grass tomorrow.

Was so hot for the first circuit, cooled down a bit for the rest.

Orienteering training 20:00 [3] 4.04 km (4:57 / km)

Very easy sprint score course and control collection around Science Park, shame since it’s actually a good area so could have been so much better

Running 25:18 [3] 5.08 km (4:59 / km)

Extra laps round the ring road to make up the distance for the evening to a reasonable amount, still a bit short but trying not to over do it

Didn’t have time to cycle and warm up so had to run there and back- would have preferred to do this on grass really.

CUHH session at Churchill
10 minute tempo, 3x300m [1:00], 3x300m [1:30], 3x300m [2:00] about 10 minutes jog after tempo, 3 minutes jog between sets plus a bit of standing around
Tried not to go out too hard on the tempo, but still felt grim by the bank on the third lap, enjoyed the 300s though, good to have Rebecca and Maybritt to work off. Times quite variable but reasonable for grass.

Out to Caldecotte, back through Madingley, taking it quite easy on the first half then got more into it on the way back, just loosening off legs really, aware that I’ve been feeling a bit run down over the last week so trying to be sensible.

A bit longer than planned as the track was closed so had to jog out to West Cam loop, legs feeling tired - nothing there on the way back, suspect revision is getting to me

On my own because of track Varsity so motivation low and feeling tired but good to get legs turning over at least and rep pace was increasing.

Easy run through the allotments to trumpington and back via Granchester. Had a runny nose all day but actually felt better on this than sat inside working.

About 3 minutes of navigation maybe spread over the whole time, but a nice run through the fields.

Session at Churchill with Fiona, Lucy and Rebecca.
7x 500m [1:30]
Started way too fast on the first rep and was slower on every rep for the first 4, then pretty much the same time or a little faster for the last 3. Nice to have Rebecca to work off on these though. Legs feeling very heavy and cough not great, will take things easy this week.

Baits Bite through Fen Ditton and back along the towpath. Legs were feeling very tired this morning but seemed okay by the time I got round to running in the afternoon and cough is possibly worse but fine for a very chilled pace long run.

Pretty much the same pace on all the long reps which was a bit annoying, but happy with how the session went, legs so tired at the end though.

Through the allotments and along the busway to trumpington then back through Granchester. Really enjoying the evening sunshine and for some reason feeling really good, although coughing a fair bit so couldn't really push the speed too much.

Fairly standard core when I got back- core is so much easier after running!

Out to Bar Hill and back for CUOC training, definitely working harder on the way there but actually Garmin speed reckons it was pretty much the same, must have been more downhill on the way home!

Orienteering training 34:06 [3] 6.05 km (5:38 / km) +34m 5:29 / km

Norwegian style sprint course round Bar Hill, with map for each leg at the control, only had one catastrophic failure where I had to return to the map about 3 minutes later, and one where I returned about 10 seconds later when I got to the junction and realised i'd already forgotten. Definitely a good skill to practice though as I always read the map too much! Surprisingly good area as well, not sure why we don't use it more.

So hot which made this a tough session, but happy with how I felt although times were quite variable.
Chest still feeling like I’m about to get a cold but training/rest days doesn’t seem to make it better or worse, just coughing a bit when running.

None of my normal long run partners were around so died on the first 2km trying to stick with the main group, then massively crashed and crawled round the rest on my own. Stomach cramps and heat not really helping either.

In the sunshine. Fairly straight forward circuit.

A bit time limited before circuits or would have done more since it was a gorgeous day, out to Granchester and across the fields past the rugby pitches.

Urban training around Royston, a mixture of really tricky housing estate and boring road legs, overall pretty fun and nice to get out of Cambridge on such a sunny evening.

CUHH session at the track.
2x200m, 2x2x600m [200m jog recovery, 200m extra between sets]
Chest feeling a bit grimy, feels like a cough coming. Probably not doing the 600s hard enough, but it's hard to know how to pace them with jog recovery being fairly speedy to keep with the group.
