Sunday Sep 17 #

Running 1:47:56 [1] 10.21 km (10:34 / km) +263m 9:22 / km

AIRE, Malham, Short Brown.
Cold not good, couldn't really run without breaking into coughing so ended up walking quite a lot of the way, navigation therefore really easy. Managed to go to a control and not actually punch it, oops. Hopefully will manage to complete a course next time I go orienteering.

Saturday Sep 16 #

Warm up/Cool down 12:25 [3] 2.04 km (6:05 / km) +35m 5:36 / km

Could feel cold all the way so kept it slow.

Orienteering training 1:12:36 [3] 7.86 km (9:14 / km) +170m 8:20 / km

Aire Dales Weekend, Attermire.
Physically terrible, absolutely could not deal with the tussocks and the bogs being so soft after 2 months of hard soil only. Cold meant that I couldn't really run up the hills either, so just coasting along. Going slowly made the navigation really easy though, apart from my ability to tell the difference between 125 and 123. Hopefully will manage a better performance tomorrow.

rhr:56 (sick)

Didn't sleep much on the plane and drifting last night, taking a rest day to try and get this cleared up quickly.

Thursday Sep 14 #

Picked up a cold, probably on the flight from Melbourne to Adelaide, throat is pretty dry and a bit of a cough. Probably tired, but flying home today so not ideal for getting rid of it, not going to have a chance of good sleep for about 32 hours.

Wednesday Sep 13 #

Running 44:43 [3] 8.4 km (5:19 / km) +10m 5:18 / km

Along the seafront in Semaphore, really windy so going pretty fast on the way out along the tarmac path; 4:47, 4:33, 4:13, 4:10. Then came back along the soft sand into the wind and was absolutely crawling, but good strength work for the legs.

Tuesday Sep 12 #

Running 43:50 [3] 8.55 km (5:08 / km) +30m 5:02 / km

Started in central Melbourne to try and find a post office but failed, quite stop start at the traffic lights, then last 5km on the Yarra river trail which was better.

7 AM

Running 40:46 [3] 7.86 km (5:11 / km) +10m 5:09 / km

Along the south Bank of the Yarra River, again a diversion but only 3 sets of traffic lights. Felt like I was too upright when running, possibly due to being quite stiff and nor having stretched enough, although I did do a proper stretch last night for the first time in a couple of weeks.
