Coledale horseshoe fell race
Got stuck behind loads of people and the start and had to queue up the first hill which was annoying, then ended up walking a lot of the climb up to Grisedale Pike, definitely should have run more but didn’t know how much longer it was/how the rest of the route would be so happy to sit in with the people around me. A bit slow on some of the descents but that’s just technique. Shoes just starting rubbing a bit on the bottom of the heels at the end, not sure why but not really a problem. First U23 anyway so got some nice prize money and such a beautiful day to be out.

Thursday Apr 4 #

Running 1:19:41 [3] 13.45 km (5:55 / km) +182m 5:33 / km

Very easy with Mum to the Mast and back through Bailrigg, Burrow Hill and Stodday. Feeling good

LOC evening event at Great Tower
Trying to run at over speed to make mistakes which kind of worked, messed up 5 by a couple of minutes by going up the wrong stream and making things fit, then spent ages looking for 6 which was in the wrong place, and then fine after that. Generally not using compass enough and rushing out of the control circles without a decent plan, but good to practice starting fast.

Tuesday Apr 2 #

Running 1:05:01 [3] 12.3 km (5:17 / km) +143m 5:00 / km
shoes: Brooks Ghost 11

Up the hill last Williamson Park and along the road behind the mast, then back through Bailrigg.

Monday Apr 1 #

Running wu/cd 22:51 [3] 4.22 km (5:25 / km)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 11

Running 30:09 [3] 5.33 km (5:39 / km)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 11

Intervals at Crook O’Lune
1:30-3:30 length intervals with half rep recovery.
Feeling good but not pushing super hard on the way back
