- Notes to follow -

Friday Apr 3, 2015 #

1 PM

ORIENTEERING race 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)

JK Day One
Sprint Distance Race at Lancaster University. My first major event in the UK. Conditions were wet and rather slippery and I found it difficult to get traction especially when crossing grassy areas. Had a rather nasty fall on the pavement on the way to the third last control falling straight forward and landing on both knees. Two moderate errors. The first was running straight past number 10 after miss reading the control code (rather than reading the map). The second was heading west of of 17 into a dead end and then later in the leg running about 20-30m past number 18 and having to double back. Lost about 40sec in total due to errors and the fall. I think a different footwear could have improved my time further.
