9 AM

Running 2:20:09 [0] 12.07 mi (11:37 / mi) +741m 9:45 / mi

Bynack More from Glenmore lodge parking area. Quite chuffed with this as legs felt strong throughout. Ankle sore pretty much all the way up but strangely not remotely sore descending!!! Not entirely happy now but hopefully ice will do the trick. So another hill climb tackled and the snow might disappear soon fingers crossed!! Damp and drizzly but not especially cold and very strange without a howling gale for company!!

Wander with Ros giving her a chance at some compass work on some mostly pathless terrain near Grantown. Parked by Huntley's cave. Most excellent fun :-)

Squeezing in a run

Wednesday May 9 #

Running 33:36 [3] 6.6 km (5:05 / km) +147m 4:35 / km

Forest run series, no. 1. Wasn't sure if I'd do this, but really enjoyed. Took it steady, definitely not racing, felt surprisingly ok on the climbs.

creaky leg shaker round Hill 99 & extra

Hiking 4:30:38 [0] 8.38 mi (32:18 / mi) +711m 25:34 / mi

Hiking back out again the scenic way - straight up side of Lairig Ghru onto saddle of Ben Macdui. Very scrabbly and scrambly, not a route I'd take anyone else on :-D No visibility at all so map and compass essential. Even better if you use it properly, a bit too relaxed as I left the summit of Ben M and promptly went the wrong way!! Took a while to sort that one out but then fairly event-free apart from all the bl00dy snow fields - time for that snow to GO
