Orienteering 2:01:38 [3] 6.95 mi (17:30 / mi) +188m 16:09 / mi

The long long! Once again glad of the early start. Feck ups started early - note to self, when folding map, make sure you don't fold numbers in half! My 21 and 2 were fairly close together ... 1 ok, wasted 10 minutes on 2 because I was at 21 but didn't realise, must have unfolded map slightly and then realised!! So in a complete fizz going to the actual 2. Then managed to settle down a bit and do 3-9 ok. Dithered on route to 10 and decided on the good tracks/easy run option. Arrived about same time as others who had gone the other way but I should have been faster, really hot and thirsty now. 10-11 ok. Misread map for 12. Got across the long 13-14 leg ok although and ended up just left of control. All good. Brain slowly unraveling in heat by now, more dithering but made it to 20 ok, then totally random after photographer point, just dropped down slope and could not for the life of me get brain to unravel what I was doing!! Located square patch of green and sorted it, but so stupid and really didn't need to climb back up the another slope!! So 8km became 11ish!! At least my minimal ultra training Hass given me good endurance!! Think me and kids have spent whole weekend being vaguely dehydrated!! ##i wasn't last!! :-)

Orienteering 1:20:36 [3] 3.8 mi (21:13 / mi) +72m 20:02 / mi

Managed to sort the starts so I wasn't starting 1.5 hrs after the 12 year old - who thought that was a good idea?? Glad of earlier start but it was still flipping hot!
Not a great day to be honest (I know I'm not great at this but lots of silly mistakes!!).
Got really confused going from maps to the start - didn't spot kite hanging on the other side of the fence so slow to 1, ok to 2 misjudged distance to 3. Plush 4 to 10 but got line totally wrong across to 11. Ok 12-14 but made a total arse of 14-15 and 16 seemed further up/in than I expected. Getting really warm now a any love pretty much lost! Wrong route to 21 - don't know why I didn't notice pit was right on edge of track. And finally, just lost focus totally going to 24. Not a great run at all.

Orienteering 18:22 [3] 1.76 mi (10:26 / mi)

JK on a very warm afternoon. Felt shattered after a busy week, and was dehydrated from traveling and the thought of warming up was too much! Surprised myself by actually enjoying myself once I ignored the roasting sun! Perhaps there is a ray of light for my orienteering skills!! Perhaps!

Running 1:25:00 [3] 9.6 mi (8:51 / mi) +25m 8:47 / mi

Creaky, snot busting trundle around the big tracks is Culbin. Started ok, but died at about 7 miles!! Various niggles held together but just feeling very creaky and lethargic!

Running 36:40 [3] 4.18 mi (8:46 / mi) +68m 8:21 / mi

From Coylumbridge. Plod up the Loch Einich path, a wee corner cut in a little twill I'll not spotted before, and back along the Lairig Ghru path. Lovely clear light but ridiculous wind and cold.
