Running 2:01:50 [3] 12.01 mi (10:09 / mi) +377m 9:15 / mi

Somewhat lacking in motivation today - something to do with leaving cosy bed and warmth and exchanging for sleety drizzle!! But kick up the arse to myself and headed up Landover track into moors at Dava with just sheep for company. Turned out lovely :-) drizzle stopped, views, little wind, waterproof socks only leaked a bit. Asking a bit much of challengers - really not designed for the icy snow on the higher bits of the route so ended up walking a few bits to stay upright. Running out of oooomph on the way back but then miraculously discovered a bag of dolly mixtures :-D
Another solid week I think, but pretty creaky. Looking forward to a likely painful, but beneficial, massage tmrw!!

Orienteering 1:53:04 [3] 5.35 mi (21:08 / mi) +43m 20:37 / mi

The usual mixed effort. Stressful start to the day, what with the hysterical 12-yr-old and the grumpy 15-yr-old ... Frankly it was a miracle we left the house! And then I had to go back because I forgot money. Anyway, good to 1,2 and 3 ok. Absolute arse of 4 list map contact, didn't read the colours of terrain blah blah 20 minutes later!! 5, 6, 7 ok, 8 I overshot so more time wasting, 9 hesitant but ok. 10 was good ... But ... Then I blew it with random looking in totally wrong place, utter stupidity! Realised and sorted it, 11, 12 fine, 13 ok, 14 just not paying attention (hungry!!), Failed to count rides, had to retrace. At least I didn't miss any or miss-punch but collectively 30 minutes of mistakes!!
But - joy of joy, peace and harmony restored with the teens because they both won fastest leg on their courses :-) eldest delighted with good 'trophy' - baby doll 'leg' stuck on a plinth!! :-D

Slither free and surprisingly cooperative legs (they've not been game all week). Dodged both rain showers.

Met up with two from Lossie Cod Heids a little later at West Beach. 10 mins of sea swimming - awesome if a little surreal!!

Lunchtime run from the lodge. Snow covering the icy trail meant you stayed upright, but hard work none the less! Very beautiful, with little wind. Cloud hovering over highest tops but still great views. Lacking motivation a bit this week after a good week last week.

Creaky bimble along coastal path. Gorgeous day despite low temps but heels very creaky (last week they were not bad at all!). Wearing HR monitor to gauge effort better, need to find one that doesn't fall down as I run and lose contact with my skin!!

Rest day. Actually, it was an INSET day, the weather was pants and frankly I couldn't be arsed!! So no more excuses allowed for rest of the week obviously!!

Amazed this happened. Forgot headtorch so used one from car, that'll be a cheap one from Tesco's with dubious life in batteries. Picked my way along Coylumbridge track - puddles, slush and a bit of ice but the sleet eased. Batteries predictably failed completely so even more cautious retrace of steps and a bit on the logging way (better Vis) to add some distance. Cleared the brain but not very satisfying!
