Sunday Jan 31 #

9 AM

Running long 1:58:23 [3] 13.1 mi (9:02 / mi) +153m 8:43 / mi
ahr:132 max:142

Sunday longer run with Liz again. Liking this Sunday routine and feels like the first time in a fair few years where I've actually got a decent regular longer run in. Makes so much difference with company too. Stopped watch by mistake so a bit missing on the map.
-5 when set off :-O so cold on the breathing. But clearly nobody else was brave enough to leave home so with empty car parks the forest was empty and tracks were crunchy but not iced over with foot prints. Gorgeous sunshine. A bit of slip sliding and ice dodging but some sheltered dry bits too. Feeling a bit creaky and less springy than last Sunday but pleased to get another one in the bag.

Saturday Jan 30 #

11 AM

Running 1:52 [3] 0.16 mi (11:41 / mi) +12m 9:27 / mi
ahr:120 max:129

Ran a bit then met Paula B so spent a good 10-15 minutes chatting :-)

Running 30:26 [3] 2.75 mi (11:04 / mi) +97m 9:59 / mi
ahr:124 max:143

Then just ran very easy loops around Cluny hills loosening off legs from yesterday
3 PM

skiing (XC) 33:20 [3] 2.0 mi (16:40 / mi) +41m 15:40 / mi
ahr:103 max:116

Up at the logie wind farm. Had Scarlett with me so we took sledge for her. Trying out my skis for the first time, and not having actually done this for a couple of times, I was a bit rubbish but hey, it was fun. Hard going on the trampled iced up trail but some tracks from other skiers helped and I didn't fall over going downhill either - that is a huge result :-)

Friday Jan 29 #

3 PM

Running 41:00 [3] 4.85 mi (8:27 / mi) +19m 8:21 / mi
ahr:132 max:148

Warm up the long way round, feeling increasingly creaky and reluctant!!

Running intervals 6:41 [3] 1.0 mi (6:41 / mi)
ahr:156 max:165

Harriers 1 mile time trial. Road just starting to ice up but managed to avoid the head wind. Didn’t feel great but got it done!

Running 13:17 [3] 1.52 mi (8:44 / mi) +20m 8:23 / mi
ahr:135 max:144

Run back home

Thursday Jan 28 #

3 PM

Running 42:38 [3] 4.42 mi (9:39 / mi) +54m 9:18 / mi
ahr:119 max:140

Easy paced run in the Culbin while on cake delivery duties. Ground so frozen, some icy patches but some clear bits too. Sleety but so good to be out in a busy day.

Wednesday Jan 27 #

9 AM

Running 58:41 [3] 6.53 mi (8:59 / mi) +28m 8:52 / mi
ahr:134 max:141

Reluctant haul of body outside this morning as it was sleeting, swithered about going later but glad I didn’t as I got a taxiing adventure
over several borders to retrieve the ARI escapee :-)
Anyway, left heel groaning before I started but it gave up complaining eventually. Stopped sleeting and felt almost warm (relatively speaking - no wind) by end. Feeling a bit weary but always good for being out.
Trying to ignore all the very focused effort training going on by other Harriers and just stick with my own regular plodding and staying sane style of training! Hmmmm if nothing else, I’m perfecting the just under 9mm whatever the terrain technique!!

Tuesday Jan 26 #

4 PM

Running 56:42 [3] 6.41 mi (8:51 / mi) +81m 8:31 / mi
ahr:132 max:143

Dusk bimble. Wore HR monitor strap and readings seem more in keeping with how I actually felt - ie not gasping my last!
Out to the Dava via some extreme ice skating, clearer once out of Forres but back via tar from Rafford to avoid it on the return. Legs feeling not bad

Monday Jan 25 #

1 PM

Yoga 5:42 [3]
ahr:72 max:78

Some random thing on new watch that does a breathing exercise ... what you need when trying to log in into payslip system to get stuff to fill out the tax return that you’ve had months to do, but obviously 11.59pm on the 31st is where it’ll be!! :-)
3 PM

Running 28:00 [3] 3.2 mi (8:45 / mi) +64m 8:14 / mi
ahr:161 max:196

Round the block from home stretching the legs after a semi-productive day at the computer and hearing from himself.
Legs feeling ok after yesterday - Phew
