| Event: ASC Galaxy & Canberra Cup | ||
| Orienteering (ASC Galaxy Sprint) 12:36 [3] | ||
| Uni of Canberra
Started off cautiously, being 8 seconds behind at the easy first control! Then started running a bit harder. Most controls were fine for me, but lost some time on a couple - about 15 seconds on number 10 (114) when i fanged off down the wrong pavement, and I took also 47sec to get to 16 (122) when most took about 30sec. Still, very pleased with the result and happy to share the cash with Sophie :-) Great sprint area - good one to Craney for mapping it in the summer, and the Abominables club for putting on their first of 3 events for the day

| Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] | ||
| Running (SILVA sprint relay) 8:24 [3] | ||
| Loop 1
Mass start with mostly girls...chaotic to the first control!! I think there were about 4 or 6 different first ones. Had a pretty clean run, and I was in a bunch most of the way with Kathryn, Jasmine, ALJ, Vanessa and Rachel I think. So much fun...if a little stressful!
| Running (SILVA sprint relay) 10:52 [3] | ||
| Loop 2
Grant came back in first spot, and subsequently I couldn't find the first control! PANIC CENTRAL. I was actually within a metre of it, but it was on the other side of the passable wall. I ran around like an idiot when I should have trusted myself and stayed there til I saw it. Pretty much ran the whole way to 2 which confirmed I was in the right spot back at #1, so ran back then heard the 'beep' of someone punching it. OMG, was glad to finally find it. Lost a minute or 2 there. Found Al, Vanessa and Kathryn at number 3, and the rest was fine. Although feeling pretty bad about #1, it was awesome fun! Overall Grant and I ended up in 4th

| Evening run with Grant from the police academy all around the cool tracks on Parli House hill then onto the lake and back. Right foot went numb again, and i wasn't even orienteering! | ||

Monday Mar 24 | ||
| Orienteering 20:00 [3] | ||
| Got lost at number 3 - after wasting a fair bit of time at 2. Had been out for ages, and couldnt face the rest of the course. Feet were killing too. Trudged back to the finish with my head down :-(
Quite disappointed with my Easter runs...Probably at my fittest (had a sedentary 2007 and started running on 23rd December), but just haven't done much orienteering training and it showed. Rock is too hard for me too! I don't read the map and I just want to run and hope to find them.. Grrrr!
Sunday Mar 23 | ||
| Orienteering 1:28:00 [3] | ||
| Long distance - a bad run. Chose some bad route choices and got lost at number 5 and 7, among mistakes at others. Luckily found them after a few mins of hunting around. Feet pretty sore at the end, and then i realised i had forgotten to take ibuprofen. Silly silly me | ||
