| Running 53:18 [3] | ||
| Run from Kye's with Kye, Ria, ALJ, Rej and Cath. We went up Blackie then on the western side of the circum track and back down. I felt v. slow. But then it was a brunch feast courtesy of Cafe Breeze with pancakes, muffins, fruit salad, gourmet yoghurt, frozen yoghurt and more. Sat in the morning sun of the apt.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Friday Apr 4 | ||
| Running 25:22 [3] | ||
| Could only fit in a short jog between school and staff dinner. Ran up Macarthur, along Dryandra past the christmas house, and to O'Connor shops for milk. Nice evening to be out running, and felt ok from yesterday | ||
Thursday Apr 3 | ||
| Running 3:00 [3] | ||
| 3 minute warm up - not very ideal really, but I didn't get to the run with much time to spare.
Didn't really do a warm down, as my hamstrings were so tight I thought I was going to cramp up big time. Tried to stretch instead
| Running race (AFP Fun Run) 32:11 [3] 8 km (4:01 / km) vdot: 50.9 | ||
| How many people constitute a fun run? Well this one only had about 10 people!
Started at Reconciliation Place and ran west along the water's edge for 4km, which was a bit before the bike path crosses Alexandrina Dr in Yara. Headed straight into the wind, it was terrible! I tried to tuck in behind a guy for the first couple of kms, but realised he was going slower than 4mins/km so had to go it alone. Got to the turn around in 16.33, and was feeling ok - but hamstrings very very tight. They got worse on the way back - but at least I had the tail wind. With a km to go, I knew I probably wouldn't get under 32... and I was right :-( 16.29 out, 15.42 back Grant won, and I came 2nd, ha ha - and got a polo shirt with the AFP mascott (a platypus) on it for going in the race.

Wednesday Apr 2 | ||
| Running 27:00 [3] | ||
| Short slooooow jog with Grant around Telopea Park. Very sore, and hoping I will be right for the "fun run" tomorrow
Got home to a lovely speeding fine - 69 in a 60 zone. Oops.
| C • Sure it wasn't Shep Driving? 5 | ||
Tuesday Apr 1 | ||
| Running warm up/down 13:35 [3] | ||
| Jog to ALJ's | ||
| Running 38:36 [3] | ||
| Bridge to bridge from ALJ's...Felt like quite a solid pace that Al was setting, and think it was our fastest time around. My right foot was hurting, very annoying | ||
| Running 11:59 [3] | ||
| Running home from the metro - after about 5 mins I thought I might change it from a warm down jog to see if I could do a fast time on the way home. Sped up and got there in 11.59 :-)
But probably a bad move, because then of course I didn't do a warm down, ha ha
Monday Mar 31 | ||
| Running 1:03:12 [3] | ||
| Solo evening run up Wattle onto O'Connor and Bruce ridges and back along Dryandra past #18 where I love to go as they still have a kilometre of tinsel decorating their garden and heaps of christmas decorations on the verandah. Big old Santa was singing too - classic.
Saw a v. cute echidna on some single track on Brucie
Sunday Mar 30 | ||
| Orienteering 1:05:00 [3] | ||
| Canberra Cup mass start race at Sparrow.
Started off great - because I followed Jo and Suzanne to the first three controls! For the rest of the course it was pretty lonely, and I had a scrappy second loop losing minutes on both route choice and mistakes inside the circle. By the third loop my feet were in a lot of pain, worse than ever, which was surprising because i thought they'd be ok in the soft pine forest. As i hadn't seen anyone in ages, I thought I must be last, but actually most girls seemed to be by themselves for the majority of the course too. Think i was 9th Really cool fun, and so nice to run in a pine forest for a change!
