| Running warm up/down 5:00 [3] | ||
| Orienteering (ACT Middle Champs) 48:18 [3] | ||
| Honeysuckle Creek
Well as usual, started off with a shocker at number 1...was actually pretty close to it, but then ran off in an attempt to stumble randomly across it which didn't happen as I ran in the wrong direction. Wasted a few minutes here, but then also stuffed up 2 and 3 by a couple of minutes each as well. So, disaster town really, but then started finding them a little bit better. Jo caught me 10 mins at no. 5! But I didn't see her for long ;-) Ran with Briohny from no. 5 which was nice. Actually got controls 10-14 pretty well (and then missed the last one!) Great event - pretty thick area and difficult navigation, but still fun!
Friday Apr 25 | ||
| Orienteering race (ACT Sprint champs) 16:59 [3] | ||
| A sprint in Kowen forest...got confused and probably panicked a bit going to number 1 and wasted time (30 sec+ ?), also stuffed around on 7 and 10, and finally got a bit of flow through the last third of the course. It was fun! But annoying to make mistakes. Really nice pine needle carpet to run on most of the way :-) | ||
| Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] | ||
Thursday Apr 24 | ||
| Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] | ||
| Orienteering (Gangster intervals) 30:00 [3] | ||
| 5 really fun o intervals at ANU... Didn't time them but about 5-7 mins each I think. Quite scrappy and lots of little mistakes.
Then watched the olympic torch relay across the road from our apartment!
Wednesday Apr 23 | ||
| Running 43:50 [3] | ||
| Morning run with Grant through Lyneham, onto the ridge and home via OConnor Heights - I wouldn't mind living here. Felt terrible and sooo slow. | ||

Tuesday Apr 22 | ||
| Running 53:16 [3] | ||
| Morning run up Wattle, onto Nth Lyneham ridge, around it clockwise this time, and back home. A very colourful view of the berra from the ridge | ||
| Running 53:00 [3] | ||
| Lovely run from Cath's place up on tracks on Red Hill (to the peak that's higher than Red Hill), awesome views as the sun was setting, down and onto Mugga Way - perusing the property here was fun! Around the streets back to Cath's. Really nice run | ||
Monday Apr 21 | ||
| Running 1:00:36 [3] | ||
| Got up at 9 and went running at 10 (did i mention i love school holidays?). Jogged up past Ainslie shops on to the loop track to Hackett gate, then down to Dicko ovals (40.59), then 5 mins of jog between intervals, and slow jog home (14.37). Right hammy very sore, perhaps I should stretch it once in a while. | ||
| Running intervals 11:28 [3] | ||
| About my 2nd or 3rd intervals sessions for the year...
3x1km at Dicko ovals, oohh they were horrible and i felt sluggish 3.48 3.48 3.52 200m jog between each
| Running 1:06:00 [3] | ||
| Evening jog with Al and Max. Met them on the bike path near Anna and Tom's old place and ran north along the bike path past Dicko pool, then along the streets of Ainslie, always a pleasure to look at the houses here ;-) Crossed Limestone, said goodbye and ran home through Braddon, just as the sun was setting. Beautiful crisp Canberra evening! | ||
Sunday Apr 20 | ||
| Running 1:36:04 [3] | ||
| Run from Hackett with Grant, Al and Kez. Around Ainslie, over HH and into the pines for a bit. Felt quite bad for the first hour or so, lots of little ailments in my aging body ;-)
Breaky at Spill the Beans in Dicko afterwards...good caramel milkshake +, but it was in a takeaway cup - , great cinnamon toast +. The kitchen is behind the bar, so the constant waft of cooking bacon and smoke was a - However, will give it another go!
