Running race (ACT XC) 39:30 [3] 9.5 km (4:09 / km) vdot: 49.5
ACT XC at Mt Ainslie
Anti-clockwise from Philip Ave around Mt Ainslie on the loop track, undulating and then a nasty hill up to the saddle, and a quick downhill stretch to la finish.
Ran with a girl for about 3km (no markers) then she gradually got further and further away
Exact same time as Mothers Day 10km!
C • good one! 1
Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Friday May 23

Running 46:41 [3]
Early morning run w Kye onto Ainslie loop track, through Braddon and back. I had heard it was going to be -3 so kitted up appropriately but it was +4! Didn't get too hot though

Thursday May 22

Running intervals 10:00 [3]
Mace's intervals on Bruce Ridge
Interval from gate up to ridge, then picked up a map and ran down a shorter hill focussing on a leg of the course. Then turn around and interval back up the hill, and then you had to simplify and draw the leg. Tricky!
For me the long intervals were 1.57, 1.57, 1.57, 1.51 and the short ones about 28 seconds each. I was crap at remembering anything important about the legs!

Running warm up/down 30:00 [3]

Wednesday May 21

Running 1:08:55 [3]
Evening run with ALJ and JLA from the metro.First run with headlamps :-)
We ran through ANU to "Al's track" which is some rough and steepish single track winding up Blackie - cool view over Canberra by night, then down pushbike hill, I was a complete unco, along Doover Crackenback, through the saddle, back through ANU to Al's.
Followed by gourmet cheeses, gourmet soup and bread and gourmet chocolate dessert and icecream. Yum.

Tuesday May 20

Running 28:30 [3]
Early morning run in the fog...didn't want to get up but had to run this morning bc of a school board meeting tonight. Plod up David, jog along Dryandra and a run down Macarthur...though there wasn't much difference in pace between all three
Off to Gungahlin primary schools XC today - to look after our 60 kiddies

Monday May 19

Running 54:13 [3]
Really nice evening run with Cherie through Dicko and onto the Ainslie loop track, back through Ainslie, and Lyneham to finish. Now about to watch Greys from Sunday night, ripper!
C • Greys 4

Sunday May 18

Running warm up/down 5:00 [3]
Orienteering race 1:17:10 [3]
Mount Pearson
Was looking forward to this one bc I am feeling fit at the moment. The 1:15000 was going to be interesting though! Started off wobbly on the first two, then so indecisive on the long number 3! Should have just made a decision and ran, but I kept stopping and changing my mind every few hundred metres, which wasn't the best. Bomb caught me 2mins at #3, and we went different ways to the long #4 (I should have pushed harder here, but was a bit soft) and met again. Stayed behind Anna up the hills then JLA came whizzing along at #7 and I hung on to them to the finish. The tops of ridges were so fun to run on, and the river crossing towards the end refreshed the legs too! Great course, and overall a very fun weekend of racing in the Apple Isle.
C • Great running 6
