Orienteering race (Aus Champs) 1:25:15 [3]
So, after a couple of shockers last weekend, I was really determined to stop and read the map more, making sure I knew where I was. Also, I was going to check compass constantly.
Started off well for me and I got #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...all cleanly! Starting to think wow, this is going great but don't get too excited yet. Got #7, 8, 9, 10 (wish I'd taken the track option instead of the green creek but oh well), 11, 12, 13 all ok - just little wobbles. But then I bombed out on #14 massively. Couldn't make sense of it and stupidly changed my mind about where I thought I was half way through the leg and wandered a long way away. Relocated after a while and got the control. Must have switched off on #15 as well as I drifted too far to the right and lost a couple of mins. So 10 minutes of mistakes on 2 controls. The rest were ok. Pleased to do most of the course well, but very disappointed to make such a big stupid mistake

Orienteering race (Aus Sprint Champs) 19:00 [3]
A bit of a 'should have' kind of run. Should have not drifted into the bush on #2 (lost ~20sec), should have trusted myself that I was on the right building at #9 even though I couldn't see the control (lost ~15sec), should have punched #21 instead of the boys one (yep, mp but probably saved a few seconds, ha ha), and should have gone from 22->23 not straight to 24 (lost ~40sec). So a mp is very disappointing, but I wasn't happy with my run anyway. Too many mistakes

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Thursday Sep 25

Running 29:48 [3]
Early morning run on Macarthur-Dryandra-David loop. Did about 10x~10sec run thrus along Dryandra. Sluggish.

Wednesday Sep 24

Running 37:52 [3]
Lovely early morning run with Cathy and the dogs on some tracks. Today is staff ice cream day at school (my initiative) - basically, you eat ice cream all day. I can't wait for recess...

Tuesday Sep 23

Running intervals 12:00 [3]
Girls Intervals 1 min on 1 min off, on the northern side of Lake BG. Intervals are nasty business.
I'd had 11hours sleep though :-)

Note
Yesterday our plane left Hervey Bay an hour late and we missed our connecting flight from Brissie to Canberra, so they put us (Grant, Hoggster and me) up in a posh hotel with meal vouchers and we got up at 4.30am and caught the first plane to the Berra. Arrvied at 8am and ALJ picked us up and I got to school at 8.50am. I'm still wearing the same clothes (not my o clothes) as the weekend - doesn't feel too great!
Running 40:00 [3]
Felt a bit jetlagged (!) but it was nice to get out for a run after school in the drizzling rain. Solo one on the Wattle-Dryandra-David loop. In all my deliriousness I accidently took off my watch just before the run and when I got back to our complex, I undid my shoelace to get my key, but my key was in my pocket.

Sunday Sep 21

Orienteering race (QLD Long) 1:23:00 [3]
Meant to start off cleanly...wasted a bit of time at #1 though (and should have run the track the whole way) then stuffed #2 by about 3 mins, as well as #3 by 3 or 4 mins. This was starting to feel like yesterday. Tried to get it together and managed to get a few ok, but also wasted 1-2 mins on a lot of the others. Only positive thing was that I felt good running didn't get tired and didn't stop for a drink.

Very very disappointed with the weekend.

THANKS HEAPS to BelindaL for running up in W21E!! Awesome job for the cockies :-)
