| 5er-Staffel, last leg. Started quite well, felt good. Flat and fast terrain, but you always have to push hard, otherwise you're too slow here. This and the fact that most of the course was off tracks lead to complete engine breakdown after 45-50'... At the moment, I'm simply missing O competitions and training in the terrain. Will need some competitions and Bonanza to make 70+ minute races fun again, but I'm on a good way. |

Hm, much much better than expected!! Even though I've only done a handful of fast trainings since Tiomila, I was only about 20'' slower than last year right after Jukola... and my best time is about one minute faster. Felt good, was able to keep a good rhythm all the way. Lungs were almost exploding after first 4k uphill, but I was able to recover for the end, although I think I lost some time there, as I was less than 1' behind Maetthu and Fos after 3k. Maetthu won the race in 24.58, before Fos in 25.20.
It seems that some basic training actually does help the shape. Some O-competitions will follow in the next weeks.
