Shooting Greens Blue. Nice course, had a couple of sloppy controls (5 & 6) but enjoyed it. I think of this area as being very brashy, but Joe found some nice bits of forest and minimised the grotty bits

Mega walk at Glen Tanar with Julia. 23km, 5 hrs moving time, 420m climb. Out of the forest around Clachan Yell and back via Half Way Hut. Got chased by a Capercaillie. What a magnificent bird! Also a glimpse of a pair of Golden Eagles. The track in the open was full of drifted snow for about 7km. Kept falling through the crust and stayed off the track for much of it. Just back to car by dark. Absolutely exhausted!

Run at the park in Banchory. Set of 10 intervals at increasing pace. A lot of ice around this morning. Was passed by Robbie Simpson heading for Scolty. Best of luck to him for the Games. Garmin VO2max up to 49

Easy run around some of the lower trails at Scolty, exploring a new bike trail. Snow on the ground on the big tracks but not as icy as expected.

Note

Hike with Julia up Hill of Fayre from Raemoir, making a loop. 16.77km, 430m climb, 3 1/2 hours. Nice views, but quite icy in places, wouldn't have wanted to run it without dobs.
