commute. uneventful except when i was getting dressed i found out in my sleepy packing haze this morning i packed 1 black sock and......1 black arm warmer! its actually really bloody comfortable though. I think i might try wearing both one time. who would have thought arm warmers could be so versatile.

commute. bit wet and was a dope and forgot work shoes so had to turn back to avoid walking round the office in cleats all day.
Orienteering 42:00 [3]
summer series at Glebe Point. Some nice areas, i really wanted to be sitting at some of the funky looking cafes & restaurants chilling out. Went out pretty hard and thought i was on track to clean up most of them but made a massive mistake down the sth end of he map. dont really know what happened really, just didnt concentrate and ran of the map (i think). lost a couple of minutes and my motivation for street-O so cruised back dropping a few controls in the west. good to get a run in tho.

rode over from city to glebe. Claire m finished soon after me and mentioned she was glad the thunder didnt start til after she'd finished otherwise she may have bailed. I hadn't heard it but knowing i had a min 1 hr ride home said cya later and got going.

drizzling across the bridge then torrential by nth sydney. Never been pissed on so much in my life, it was almost funny. felt pretty tired by this stage and just sort of went into survival mode and rolled home a bit of a shattered man.

Dari had a good laugh at my misfortune though!

Pain in the Domain. Heard lots bout this run but never done it. Basically a fartlek session round the domain & botanic gardens.

legs felt super heavy and i really struggled running today.

Monday Feb 25

started commuting today. bit of an experience but heaps better than the train.

rode with dari in the morning. few little tricky turns i didnt expect caught me b suprise.
bit of shit day at work and didnt get out of the office till after 8. luckily had lights and met some dude on the bridge and floored it along the pacific hwy. 40kph+ average and only one set of lights in chatswood. good fun.

cockies sunday run. ainslie and hackett hill. felt shit. bit of a concern actually.

Saturday Feb 23

went out to stromlo to watch some of the AROC. ran up the mtn and faffed round a bit watching teams run up to their bikes. good having a yarn and catching up with people. down to the TA and pete gave me an orienteering map so ran the little section in bluetts. LOTS of teams with NFI what they were doing here. must have been hardest bit of the course though. ran back to the car along the end of the blue scott lap on mostly single track.

more of a float but paddled one of the barges out to the island and saw the last team on the novice courese. they were a grammar team so i encouraged them a bit and tried giving a few tips to get their boat going straighter!

ran down to lady game thru the "track" starting at the oval. ran along the far side far side of the river for a while before trying to find the "track" up to UTS. I think i was always going to be pushing shit up hill trying to find anything there. did find a lot of spider webs so if nothing else my good dead for the day was clearing lane cove np and its surrounds of pesky spiderwebs. you're welcome world.

foot pretty sore from stack on tuesday.

coming to berra this weekend so hopefully slot some sessions in on the old haunts

2 creeks with intervals.

did a session i picked up with OK linne when i was in uppsala.
90 on, 60 off, 45 on, 2 (min) off X 8
ran them down on the track along the creeks and jogged recoveries backwards.

got lost again coming home which added about 10 mins

played against a mate at work. Ended up getting up in 3 nail-biting sets. I think sqaush was the winner on the day though.

ride home from the 'loo. pretty big night at the 'KRoss so i was feeling a bit 'shit.
pretty much just rolled the legs over. think ive sussed out a decent way to/from city. hopefully try a few commutes this week.

Saturday Feb 16

big foot sprints.

1st race at UTS kuringai. average run would be being kind, i pretty much rooted it. shame cos was a cool area.

2nd race chasing start. started with bunch round me and we ended up forming a pack. not really any nav just a road race. died up the hill towards the end. finished just behind jo.

swim in Andrew Boy Charlton pool near LMC. nice pool but has some messed up mix of salt water/harbour water/chlorine. not to my liking.

wasn't going to do anything today but was such a nice afternoon i decided to roll the legs over. down to UTS kuringai to see what the area was like for the sprint on sat since ive never even been there let alone run there, unlike other attack pointers i can think of.....

across the lane cove weir and along road to lane cove bridge. after trying to ride along a tiny bit of GNW up to killara ive decided to give up riding on it again. wasnt sure whether the "no bike" is a recommendation or an enforceable rule. possibly both but its not pleasant riding.

trying to find a flattish way back up to the flat but seem to be finding progressively worse hills the further i venture.

rode round the burbs for a bit partly to get an hour but more because i was "exploring" (lost).

run from work in the city over the bridge to waverton park to summer series
Orienteering 48:00 [4]
summer series balls head. 45 min score-O. I was USELESS! haha. didnt manage the whole pencil & writing code thing (kept forgetting to) and was orienteering crap down in the technical areas on balls head loosing 3+ mins pissing round. saw helen murphy super lost about 200m from the start.

back 3 mins late but also missed 4 controls for 470 points i think.

had fun tho and nice to get out of the office a bit earlier and get some training in after a day in the concrete jungle.

run from O back to the flat in lindfield.

ran to st. leonards with Glen then solo. legs really started struggling and i was just rooted so grabbed a coke in artamon o get me home.

solid evening.

again ive made the mistake of entering 6ft track.

evening run. planned 1hr but somehow it didnt quite eventuate. took the lane cove park/killara summer series map and ran a bit of that but mainy wanted to do the GNW along the river. had been on some of it previously.

am trying to be conscious of the fact that all runs from here start with a goodish downhill and finish uphill so have to start easy and not trash the legs etc.

Bobbin Head. Awesome loop! have been a bit of a slob this week with shitty weather, work induction stuff and the odd cheeky overpriced beer meaning no training. took me 30mins to remember how to ride a bike but felt good once i got into it.

every man and his dog (and his grandma) were out riding their bikes today. good to see a decent mix. rode the little out and backt o apple tree thingo. climb pretty solid but slowed a bit at the end not realising i was really close. 10.15.

did the old time trial back on pacific hwy and picked up a few passengers for the ride. had a chat with a dude from northern sydney cycle club or something who had been out racing. he told me bout some of the good clubs and rides etc. tried to gee him up by saying aren't turramurra cyclists all wankers....he wouldnt crack and just said, 'well, i didnt say that'

cant wait for maybe a bobbin/galston or mona vale/nth beaches epic next weeknd.
