cracker night at the polynesian spa last night. some canadian dudes had a bottle of dalwhinne single malt so we sat there and had the cigars later..haha.

run in taupo in the arvo. my mate did a sky dive but i couldnt be stuffed forking out $200+ for something id already done. got dropped at a dam bout 15km out of town and ran back along a walking track which follows the waikato river. feeling pretty shizen still and hit the wall few km from the hostel.luckily i was at the bungy jump so had a coke and watched little japanese people jumping.

was planning to run the tongariro crossing 2moro but the forecast is shit so might not end up happenging

mtbing in whakawera forest in rotorua. pretty sweet tracks. sucked being on a shitty rental bike and not having cleats so i was riding like a gumby.

another evening run up the mt in maunghanui. feeling shit. did too much kite surfing today and got all dehydrated. struggled running uphill.

2 nice runs today. one around cathedral cove. been crook as a dog last few days and only just starting to feel better. my mate slept all arvo while i drove so went for a run up mt maunghanui when we got in.awesome town, kinda like stanley in tassie with the nut but bigger and lots of nice cafes and the beach is amazing.

chilling out today then head down towards tongariro via rotorua and taupp

run round auckland

had too much vodka with dutch girls in the hostel last night and my clock saying 430 was a rude awakening. consoled myself with the fact it was really 630 nz time.

roughly followed coast to coast walk. up thru uni, round the domain a bit then up park rd under the motorway to the old place in epsom.....its a building site which is a shame. cruised round mt eden before heading back to the harbour via albert park. ripper morning.

came within a bees dick of winning a bungy jump in the pool comp last night. missed a cruicial shot which really hurt me. i decided that given i also came within a bees dick of missing my flight cos of chaos on the M5 tunnel id call it even.

pretty much a rest day today.

nice evening roll round the lake on roady. saw scotty fly past me and looks like he has grown a wicked mo...good man!

saw some real fit and tall looking girls looking lost at old parliment house in fancy dress. i guess the ACTAS sign round the back means it must have been the awards dinner or something.

off to NZ 2moz. cant wait to get some sheep into me.

beach run at shoalhaven head. really felt stuffed and was struggling in the heat even tho it wasnt even 9 yet. turned early and found some 4wd tracks in some forest behind the beach.

nice novelty to run on the beach and awesome to have a swim after.

ripper lunch at a cafe in berry.
all in all a fun and productive weekend for the cockies. bring on NOL 2008

absolutely awesome loop from kangaroo valley.

lots of hills, was really happy with how i climbed. wheels came off a bit 1/2 way up the last climb but got there ok.

was really really seedy this morning but barto was going out to sparrow hill to ride the trails there. ripper fun. started slow and then we went hard on the last few sections. bobsled is so sweet.


off to kangaroo valley for the cockatoos cycling club training camp. should be fun.

biggest skezba to date with jules, hoggster and shep as well as the two navigators.

felt like poo. finished exams yesterday but didnt celebrate that much. tired and out of breath, hopefully not getting sick.

pretty much got home and jumped on the mtb for a ride in majura. decent sized group so relaxed which was good. knee feels bad riding which isnt a good sign. just hoping for the best. lunch at debacle. sweet day.

summer series on bruce ridge. had been (not suprisingly) feeling pretty tired today running a few errands so just started out steady to see how i was gonna go. silly mistake on 3 not reading the map coming down the hill prolly loosing almost a minute but clean apart from that.

paddle with the old man and a million litres of queanbeyan shit in lake burley griffin. didnt look/smell that much worse than normal but i wasnt game to go for a dip after.

clever timing. nice sun shower started as soon as i got going and despite being heaps of blue sky around it absolutely pissed down. still pretty warm and was good fun playing chase the rainbow, until it jumped the lake....no fair.

ran solidly. the knee is still giving me niggles which is frustrating. such a stupid little tired 3am crash has become a pain in the arse.

ride round the lake with kez and jules. rode pretty fast but it is the lake. had a few incidents with unaccommodating pedestrians on the bike path.

summer series at mt taylor.

bit of a debacle. cleverly took 2 pairs of shoes (options) and no socks (no options), so was going always going to be an uncomfortable run. raining for the first bit which was cool. decided to go over the top on the long leg, just because i could. almost every race ive done here has had this type of leg and every time i go over the top. pretty sure its always slower but its just a nice hill to run on. lost my control card which was already in 2 pieces and my feet were giving me grief after 20mins so just cruised round.

2nd (and 3rd last) exam 2moro. credibility theory.

down round sterling park then faffed round parli triangle where i did a few run thrus. pretty worried about my shins, they dont feel so good.

bit sad, the zip on my favourite tights died so theyve now become 3/4s. change is as good as a holiday.

a sunday morning pete with fat rat. pretty decent westerly blowing so the first 45mins or so werent much fun. think we both had tired legs from yesterday arvo but still rode reasonably solid. It was awesome riding coming back along gunghalin drive with the tailwind. 50kph+ made it all worthwhile!

was gonna do bakery bunch this morn but we ended up bailing cos roads still wet.

id cracked the shits with study so decided to get black mt out of the way before meeting kez and ben at the sub. rode solid and was real happy with 12:05. still way early so rode round uni for a bit. Struggled early on majura but got it together a bit towards the end.

Ainslie just hurt real bad. barely holding 10km/h after the mini saddle 2/3rds up. ouch.

really good loop, should do it more often! legs feel pretty wasted now.
