Running 2:10:00 [3]
went exploring round uppsala....turned into bit more of an epic than id planned. legs were a bit sore at first after track intervals yesterday but survived alright.
ran down to the club house, through the norby trails and down through vardsatra skog to the beach (lake). ah....sweden in summer, sun out...everyone loving life. bit of a sit, snooze , sunbake and an icecream before heading off again.
ran round the lake to flottsund and over the sunnertsta ridge then hooked up with Gula stigen all the way back into town.

passed a good looking mountain biker who turned out to be alisons boyfriend, small world!
ran past the uppsala reggae festival, still pumping into its 3rd day...lots of crazy, drunken looking swedish hippies wandering around soaking up the atmosphere. had these dudes with dreadies stop me heading up to sten sture to ask where the university lab was, dont know exactly what the wanted with that at 2pm on a saturday.....but i pointed them in what i thought might be the right direction.

was good to get back to the palace of Robal and chill watching the euro aths champs. 15hr car trip up north should be fun tommorow :)

Friday Aug 11

Note
finally back in uppsala and back on AP!! ive missed it.

been a pretty full on last few weeks. after Oringen i flew straight to paris for the last stage of the TDF....awesome to be there and watch it, definately see more on telly but the atmosphere more than makes up for the poor viewing.
spent a few days in london. was planning on staying in a hostel but walking to it met a random aussie girl who offered for me to crash at her place, saved 40 quid on accommodation...sweet!
WOC.....great to be there. this was the ultimate week of mooching. didnt pay for camping, transport or orienteering and managed 4 runs out of the 6 days of the tour. the aussie success was all the more excuse to celebrate so a few pretty big nights were had.
had 4 days in berlin with kezza after WOC. that city is out of control, i feel like we didnt even scratch the surface of the night life but some of the places we went to were pretty pumping. at least im sure that american girl thought so kezza hey? or maybe that 18yr old swede?

anyway, great to be back in sweden and relax a little. im helping out at adventure racing world champs next week up north at hemavan...sounds like theyve got some cool stuff planned for me to do like canyoning and manning mountaineering checkpoints. better figure out when uni starts tho :)

Running intervals 15:00 [5]
intervals down at the track by the river with rob, micke and amelie.
did mile, 1200, 800, 400, 200 in 5.43, 4.30, 2.55, 1.18, .34
great to feel a bit of speed in the legs. the 1200 was pretty tough after getting a bit excited chasing down rob and micke in the 1st interval.

enjoyable session
Running warm up/down 40:00 [1]

run to/from the track trying to comprehend rob and mickes swedish and chip in with the odd comment.

uppsala reggae festival is on at the moment, shitloads of swedish hippies hanging around town just loving life
