AROC 12hr.

wicked day out, plan was to cruise round, do all the fun stuff, show the yank and swede a bit of canberra bush.....and we came home 3rd mixed and 5th overall(i think).
highlights were playing in kidzone (in full cycling kit), tenpin bowling, pizza at debacle and ulf having a massive stack on a wide open bike path. had to make a smoothie with 4 ingredients starting with letters from L,M,R,S,T, V. our mix was lemon, rasberry cordial, milk and......VB....ouch, mine nearly came up running an hour later.
rowena was awesome.....Alinas cuz from the states (races downhill for team Santa Cruz).
nice to be able to cruise along on the runs knowing ulf wouldnt make any mistakes.

Ulf Troeng came down to the berra last night to stay a couple of days. had shit boring finance lectures to sit thru so sent him off to sus out black mt.
tom asked us to put out a couple of kayak controls for the aroc on sat. good chance to have a go in the boat, shame it was blowing a frigging gale on the lake. poor old ulf got nailed by spray the whole time while i just got to sit there dry and steer. Awesome surfing back with the tail wind! pretty cruisey arvo.

Pre Pickle Lunch cruise round black mt, corks, bit in stromlo, aranda hill and back to uni with an american girl who im doing the 12hr with on the weekend. she races downhill for the Santa Cruz team, but goes up hill pretty bloody well too!

morning cruise. been a while since ive actually ridden during the day. was great to just be able to enjoy the sun and not be thinking about how dark or cold or early it is.

better do some study, these days where classes start at 4pm are killers!

Ran over from uni to bilbies at dixon oval. took a bit longer than i thought so missed the running drills

originally considered doing 8 but wanted to make them real solid. felt good and pushed hard through each one so stopped at 6.

luckily mace saved me having to run home :)

not such a fantastic run in hindsight........was pretty conservative but missed more than i should have for the pace i was doing.
ankle held up ok which i was happy bout.

good weekend away in wagga all up

he decided to be a goose and have a nosy at what we thought was a crash and ended up running right up the back of a ute, funny shit!! luckily he protected his bike so only his fingers took the damage.

Multisport 6:30:00 [3]
Sri chinmoy multisport in jindabyne. Great day. Tom and Alina asked me if i wanted to do a team of 4 with them and a friend from america. We had a blast. minimum of 2 people from the team doing every leg, paddled the double kayak and really really slow transitions....had some people starring at us in disbelief as we faffed around.

most legs with Alina. did 7/12 of the legs
1.5km swim, 8km run, 2.5km swim, 11km MTB (real flat fast ride!).
Tom, al and I all did the massive 45km mtb ride. turned out to be a bit of an epic of a course with over 2000m of climb. tom was real fucked after doing the run before but i was feeling great so pushed him up a lot of the hills. took abd 2:45 just for this ride.
11km paddle with Al then we all cruised the 4km last leg round the lake.....well only DJ actually did the proper course, tom and i just took shortcuts the whole way.

nice day, looking forward to having a more relaxing weekend sometime, had a few biggies recently.

Drove down to jindy this morning. bit of a shit day, had planned on either riding up to charlottes or running the main range loop but decided against both. cruised over to the mtb park in jindy and rode the 1st mtb leg in the race on sunday. 8km but real rocky and technical. pictured myself stacking, doing a collarbone and not being able to race. nice to stretch the legs.

Ints with kez. started with 1mins on 30 rest but too much of a pain in the arse looking at the watch in the dark to changed to 1kmers cos we knew the distance. kez was in slacksville today so had to push myself alone. fun till it rained.

few issues with cunts in cars towards the end of the ride, think it might have been the lynhem factor.

Hobbled round a bit of the clif top track where we were staying at echo point today before the drive home. I was the only one to attempt the walk down the stairs to the 3 sisters.....maybe i didnt run hard enough yesterday. Legs are feeling real real shit today. hopefully running by tues/wed.

Event: Six Foot Track Marathon
 
Running race 5:09:26 [3] 45 km (6:53 / km) +1200m 6:04 / km
6ft track.
pretty happy all up. 52 mins faster than last year. felt real shit all week after pulling up sore from rogaine last sunday. glenn came past me a bit before 2km....thought about going with him but he was goin a bit quick and that didnt fit in with the days plan. cruise nicely along the valley but by the single track at around 11km the legs were sore already.....oh,oh! hoped the climb would ease this a bit which it did. popped some anti-inflams to help. steady up the climb, trying to control the HR and save strength for later. got to top 16mins faster than last year. got rolling along the top, had those cramp twitches a lot so had some salt tablets at at few aid stations. at one point thought i might be able to flirt with sub 5 but realised pretty quick wasnt going to happen. happy to get home.
hoping for 4:40 next time. real depressing staying with 7 people the slowest of which ran 4:22....puts my run which i was very happy with in rather harsh perspective!
good to get away from berra for the weekend as well.

Originally planned for the only exercise today to be the rushed cooking of scrambled eggs after sleeping in before being late for uni. ended up doing a lap of the lake with kez and juls.

had a few surges up the small hills for a bit of fun. kerrin took these far far too seriously and insisted on taking them all out. accordingly he has been awarded the king of the (lake BG) mountains prize and the honour of shouting coffee next ride.

Paddy pallin 6 hr. wild cattle/ ballinifad creek and another map (forgotten its name). ran with geoff stacey. pretty good day out. we got 3rd in the end. lot of the forest was REALLY thick, shitty and slow. Were going along pretty nicely but geoff had some problems with reccuring injuries so had to dump some of planned loop. I was suffering towards the end due to hitting the turps too hard last night and the heat.
Good fun. planning a real quiet week before 6 foot track on saturday. bad memories are coming back from last years struggle....hoping i will get through it better (more enjoyably) this year. time will tell.

Sri chinmoy off road triathlon. 700m swim, 25km mtb, 5km run.

overall pretty happy with day out. never enjoy swimming in the lake much, find not being able to see anything a bit disorientating. Have had some probs with a slight twist in my chain, has been alright but wasnt today, so ended up having to stop a few times when it came off.
really enjoyed the mtb round Blackmt, stromlo, dairyfarmers, along cotter rd, ducking thru that forest b/w csiro and royal. pushed really hard riding and picked up a few spots despite chain issues. legs felt really crampy at the start of the run so backed off a bit and got thru. nice day out.

Davo won in 133 i think so not too bad. this 14yr dude did 142, shit!! i never even saw him either cos i swam too slow. hopefully the legs will stay in one piece for rogaining 2moz.

Cotter-Urriara. Cant remember ever riding this loop so slowly. kez had some chain issues so couldnt push it up the hills. must have been pretty bad for me to be setting the pace uphills. Felt good to be backing up on the roady after yesterdays ride. Uni is cancelled today and tommorow......its like one of those dreams where school is called off.......kinda feel lost though with nothing to do!
