Running 25:00 [3]
run over to dixon ovals from uni. not much fun with a backpack full of text books
Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]

warm up. stretching, drills, run throughs, recovery b/w ints and warm down.

Running intervals 14:00 [3]
hmm....not fantastic tonight.

felt super sluggish to start with. got into it after a few minutes of ints.

ran quite a bit with mace which was fun, tried to really push through the 2nd half of each int.
session was 2(1), 3(1), 4(2),3(1),2(1).....everyone had a drink at this point. once we got started again the itb started killing me so i threw in the towel.

trying harder to listen more to my body and give it a chance to recover when it needs to.

Monday Jul 30

Running 25:00 [3]
slept for almost 14hrs last night. body wasnt really working today. went for a run round uni and did a heap of stretching on sth oval. felt better afterwards. really appreciated having a quite day today.

Sunday Jul 29

Running 40:00 [3]
watching the tape of the time trial got me massively pumped up so, despite yesterdays run and having been out until 5am, i dragged my arse up onto redhill. struggled seriously, few niggles here and there but good to stretch the legs.

Event: Bush Capital Marathon

Running 3:59:40 [3]42.2 km (5:41 / km)
shoes: 2110s
well......hadnt run for 13 days, but managed to get thru.

bush capital marathon. started campbell primary, round thru campbell park, over hackett hill, west side majura, out to goorooyaroo, mulligans loop and all the way back.
was originally entered in the 60km but resolved myself to start steady and see how things went. I was feeling pretty good but from about 18-22km started getting a lot of soreness in my legs, maybe from lack of running. decided to enjoy a nice long run than suffer for an extra 2 hours.
After pussying out i started feeling really good coming back and picked it up a bit to sneak under 4 hrs. quite happy with this for a fairly steady run on a course with lots of undulations.

Myself and another girl spent the best part of the first 2 hrs running with this vegan dude. good company but he wouldnt bloody shutup about every single element of his diet (real nitty gritty scientific details) and why it was going to prolong his life an his health. he was running with 2 drink bottles and i asked if they were sustagen (they looked like similar consistency)....no, they were 'date and celery water'...nice. I couldnt decide whether to pose the idea that perhaps 60km runs arent the best way to look after your body......cest la vie!

In hindsight its disappoing to have entered a 60km run and for the 2nd time this year just done the thong, but im glad and feel like im over the worst of the post dubbo sickness and hopefully can get back into some good training.

Tuesday Jul 24

Netball 30:00 [3]
good game tonight. took my bro along and he was even shitter than i am.
got done by a point in the end...knew i shouldnt have missed that shot

Sunday Jul 22

Cycling 2:00:00 [3]
tour de pete with kez.
pretty pumped after the cracker results in the tour last night (watched it this morn), so despite being sore and bit tired the pace was solid for the first 90 mins. struggled a bit at times but wasnt gonna admit that to kezza.
coffee and homemade apple/blueberry crumble for lunch....yum!

Saturday Jul 21

Skiing (XC) 5:00:00 [3]
awesome day up on the range. went with a mate from school. left from guthega, cross the bridge and did the (tough) climb up the ridge to get onto the rolling grounds. really struggled a bit at first with lack of technique but got it together later on. spent most of the day cruising round the rolling grounds doing a few little runs and working on the skills. weather couldnt have been any better and had the whole place to ourselves. was pretty shattered at the end of the day. almost felt hypothermic after having to ski back down the ridge in the shade with lots of trees around and cut up snow everywhere. crashed the whole way down.

pie, sausage roll and coke at jindy bakery saved the day.

Thursday Jul 19

Note
have been feeling super crook all week, just trying to take it real easy and get some strength back. may do an easy session 2moro but more likely it will be saturday before i train.

Tuesday Jul 17

Netball 30:00 [1]
good game tonight, had a full team for the first time in ages.

Sunday Jul 15

Orienteering 1:03:00 [3]

2nd leg. pretty fast terrain. struggled badly. tired from the week. wont be much training this week

Saturday Jul 14

Orienteering 1:25:00 [3]
aus long champs.
took bradshaws run again in elites and just did the first loop, prolly nearly 10km. really enjoyed it, ripper map

Thursday Jul 12

Orienteering 24:25 [3]
JWOC womens A final.

started a minute after jo and caught her at 2 after she missed # 1.
we ran round together pretty solid.
unfortunately i jagged a control towards the end when i punched a boys control...what a shame.
pretty happy with the run, would have been 5th if i hadnt mp'ed

Wednesday Jul 11

Orienteering 55:00 [3]
control checking for the middle qual.

robbie, prong and i took controls near the start and then all ran a course. i took womens A and did 25:40. think i was 3rd qualifier, hopefully will do a good race in the final and not get smashed by too many of the girls!

awesome morning. becoming a routine......late night watching tour, up early out to event, bit of orienteering, then sit down with the free range coffee warming up in the sun and enjoy the commentary....cracker stuff fellas!!

Tuesday Jul 10

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]
bit of a debacle. was feeling pretty crap and fluey this morning. was going to do a run of some description just not sure what. in the end took james bradshaws run 10 minutes after he was meant to have started. ran the first loop, made a silly mistake so moped around admiring the gorgeous forest before running the last part of the course.
pretty relaxed. wandered round town in the arvo and spent some time at grapevine

Monday Jul 9

Running 40:00 [3]
checking controls for the classic with robbie and prong. found the map hard to read and terrain really physical. very impressed the times people were running.

Sunday Jul 8

Running 1:26:00 [3]
shoes: 2110s
early morning run round dubbo with sophie.
thru town along river, out to the zoo (sprint venue in the arvo) and back.
cold, wet and miserable. still a decent session and could just relax the rest of the day
Orienteering 15:00 [3]
public sprint mass start. good fun, bit of rain, lots of mud and stacks, pace way too fast for me tho

Saturday Jul 7

Event: JWOC 2007

Friday Jul 6

Cycling 2:26:00 [3]
arvo mtb in majura. loved it, good to get out and stretch the legs. felt good, tried to push hard the whole ride. awesome afternoon

Thursday Jul 5

Running 36:00 [3]
bit of a morty run. up to red hill and ran some ints up the single tracks from the northernmost firetrail up to the knoll near the road. the trails are different lengths but between about 90secs and 2 mins.

Wednesday Jul 4

Running warm up/down 25:00 [3]
20min warm up before orienteering and quick cool down after, was pretty keen to get out of the rain.
Orienteering 34:45 [3]5.2 km (6:41 / km)
shoes: Cascadias
community O at remembrance park.

dont really like the map especially. everytime i run here it feels like the exact same course; that direction, those legs....and i wasnt disappointed today. oh well, i do enjoy these low key events cos theyre a good way to get out and have a solid hitout and mistake free run. wasnt totally clean today but not bad, just a few stupid decision making type errors.
felt a bit rooted on the flatter 2nd half of the course

Tuesday Jul 3

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

after a bit of a debacle my parents got up at 4am thinking it was 5, mum obviously doesnt believe in daylight saving....what a joke. drop them off at the airport at 530. was planning on doing something in royal national park today but after the mornings false start i felt like id just ate a big can of CBF so just drove straight back to the berra.

bit of a meander and rep up black mt followed by some not so hard earned cafe time. bit of a rubbish ride but it must be 4 weeks since ive ridden the roadie so it was good to be out on it again. managed to crash into a car before even making it out of my driveway, good times.

planning to hit the links this arvo to brush off some cobwebs before corporate golf day tomorrow. dont think walking around 9 holes counts as training though.

Monday Jul 2

Running 1:15:00 [3]
was in sydney today playing chaufeur for the parentals. stayed on kent st so went out for an arvo jaunt to enjoy the nice (almost 20C!!!) weather. did lap of darling harbour, down sussex st, past the expensive looking wharf apartments, under bridge, circ quay, fought tourists at opera house, bot gardens, macs chair, domain, hyde park and back through the city.

happened to stumble across city bike depot on the way home so went and had a perve on the nice bikes later. seeing as i had nothing to do i checked out clarence cycles too.
