mtb down in lane cove NP. tried doing a loop up to pennant hills park ezy showed me but after crossing lane cove bridge i pretty much had NFI where i was. rode pretty solid but, definately notice the humidity in the creek systems. ended up riding back along pacific hwy. suprised i didnt pussy out and take back streets actually.

shoes: 2110s
moved up to sydney today. went for a run to loosen the legs. did the two creeks loop. awesome trails. got a bit lost towards the end when i missed a turn on the little diggers track, went up past the golf course and ended up at boundary road so ran a bit longer than planned.

i think these types of trails will definately toughen up the legs a bit compared to all the 'soft' canberra running i am used to.

birthday MTB with ben. thought i'd recovered from problems on sat but as soon as i had to ride up hill i felt like i was blowing up. nice loop round eurobodella NP on some tracks used in the race.

a solid 15 mins paddle on the tuross with fat rat to cool down after ride and check out some of the sick moves the water skiers were pulling off.

really disappointing. dont really know what went wrong, just felt smashed. fun morning with some beach running, ocean paddling, coasteering, bike pushing on the beach and rafting. started a 15km O section bit before lunchtime and wasnt pushing too hard. by halfway thru id run out of water, couldnt eat and was all dizzy and had no idea what was going on. struggled home and got passed by some teams who i thought were ahead but must have been a fair way behind. spent almost an hour trying to get things together back at the camp ground. didnt feel much better but started out on the ride. did a few kms but it just wasnt happening so rode back.

pretty steady and clean run and didnt miss a lot. fairly hilly and still definately fatigued from the ride on monday.

the big one....canberra-coast (moruya) MTB. have been keen to do this for a while after riding from captains flat 2 or so years ago and thought would be a good hit out before the 50hr next weekend. ended up having an enjoyable and tough long day in the saddle.

rode with barto and beth starting at 6am. fairly windy and chilly out towards hoskinstown at the 40km mark. drizzles started around then but never got too heavy. really nice flowing sections through tallaganda nat park before heading down towards majors creek. the descent down into the araluen valley was even cooler than i remembered.

barto and i couldn't help easing in to a pie and cold beer at the araluen pub (90km) before heading down to Deua river for the last "flat" 69km to moruya.

Had been feeling really strong all day doing the majority of the work on the front when the wind was up. Beth was going awesome but hit the wall pretty bad with 40km to go and wasnt looking real good. I pushed her up any hill which turned a comfy arvo into a solid one cos i started going into the red a bit. coped alright though and we rolled into moruya with just under 8hrs riding time.

exactly the sort of day i wanted and now hopefully i recover well. gonna be a real easy week now.

hamburger and dip at the beach before heading home. Loooooong day............

cockies long run. didn't feel real flash today and dropped off heading out of the pines to do a bit more on the mtb tracks, then cruised over hackett hill and ran the single track from the saddle back to the gate. hopefully get a good day tomorrow for the coast ride.

bit of a debacle this morning. was running heaps ahead of time for my assumed meeting time of 630 which unfortunately was 615. headed up fed hwy not knowing if they were behind or infront. got bored so i did a few solid 5 minute efforts. ended up seeing the bunch ridind back down old fed hwy so luckily had some company heading back into town.
felt pretty good on the bike today.

the cin toast made it worthwhile.

Got my MTB back after it got some loving at bike culture. apparently my cluster actually is silver after all and not the sludgey black its looked like for the last 8 months.

planning to mtb to the coast on the weekend and its gonna be 150 or 160km i think so a nice serviced bike will make all the difference.

thought i better make sure i can still paddle. took the old perception swing down to LBG for a tottle. the boat felt slow and heavy, much like a bath tub, and much like the toy boys will feel in the 50hr next weekend.

played a few old favourite games like name the flag (disappointingly bad at this one even though i know they're in alphabetical order) and padle through torrential rain under the fountain.
cracker day, not too hot!

summer series ANU. cracker course by jules. not really any mistakes, just a lack of control flow in some places. reasonable hit out altogether. nice it wasnt too hot

run to/from home. needed some food after so struggled home massively and had to walk some of it.

" 3 Peaks, 2 Hills and a Cafe" debut.

had planned to do corin dam but forget had to drop mum at bus stop at 9am. decided to test myself in the heat a bit with what i struggle most at....riding up hills.

red hill, blackie, majura, mt ainslie and pleasant hill. took the soft way round via fed hwy, antill, limestone instead of riding majura road. red hill and blackie solid. felt flat as starting majura so kinda rolled up it. hurt like i always seem to on ainslie and mt pleasant is barely a bump from the north.

devo to find silo closed to went to idellic a few places down. not too shabby.

feel pretty good after. must have drunk 3.5 litres today.

ran part of the spit-manly track. started near spit with robbie and turned around at north foreshore park or somthing like that. ran up to some lookout on the way back. didnt start till after 10 and the heat really got to me.

nice relaxing swim and lunch at manly and then used some deft overtaking manouvers to make it back home from manly in 3hrs flat.

ride out to sparrow on the road. 2hrs in sparrow riding the trunk loop plus a few extras then home through kowen. felt strong, fresh and rode really hard. good hit out. needed to do somethig cos ive wasted away the last 3 days by the pool with swedish girls.

jumped straight in the car after cycling and drove to sydney. got to the flat just as mace, ben, ezy and robbie were going out for a ride so i got a lift to manly dam with mace and jogged round for a bit. felt pretty tired and tight after driving but good to get out.

tour de yarra bakery....aka cotter-urriara. felt pretty bad after running yesterday evening and a latish night watching OC with the swedish chicks. got dropped like a mongrel on both climbs. struggling a bit with a bit of a cough but i think im still getting better each day

didnt like my chances of surviving any sort of long run today. really wanted to get 2008 training happening even though i was feeling pretty rubbish.

did 6 x 3mins ints with 90secs recovery. prob only ran at 75-80% but am glad i made it through the session. ran the last int as a distance to push myself harder.

13 warm up running down to massive grassy area in front of old parliment house and 12 warm down home. the warm down was HEAPS shorter distance but i was tired. pool was top knotch as always!

tour de pete with kez, shep and a 1/2 hoggster.

still feeling pretty weak and fluey but i feel like things will get better.

quick breaky after doing pete then took the mtb out to sparrow hill with gail. skipped the first section and basically started when the loop first crosses the hill. did heavy cow loop, home run extension and creek track as extras also. good fun

single trail pace was relatively relaxed and wanted a decent hit out for the day so decided to ride home. rode really solid over into and thru kowen forest. surged on some of the hills. rode a few kms of the last parts from the old mont 24hr course but unfortunately the track is in a pretty bad state and not really fun riding. worked real hard along pialligo ave to the airport and then tried to hold it together around the lake and home.
