Friday Feb 28

Running 40:00 [3]5.0 mi (7:59 / mi)

Thursday Feb 27

Running 32:00 [1]4.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
Time is an estimate. Planned to race the half marathon; cancelled this AM. Will try to get in another 20+ mile run. With rain on Sunday will be another tough run. Will the gods repay me with a PR?

Tuesday Feb 25

Running 1:00:00 [3]8.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
Fartlex workout on the roads as the track is still covered with snow. Not many people showed up for the workout ran with a man somewhat slower. He ran the first one real fast and then just preceded to run slower on each subsequent time. The last one was only at LSD speed. 10 mile race cancelled last weekend and looks like the half marathon will not happen either. Got the bowling ball fixed so that my thumb does not bleed anymore. No fun to bowl four games and have a bloody thumb. Much easier to grip.

Sunday Feb 23

Running 2:47:00 [2]21.0 mi (7:56 / mi)
Ran down Beach drive and then back up; Passed Nadim. Ran down Beach Drive passed Nadim. and then back up. Towards the end winds and rain, sleet and snow picked up. Made the last two miles tough.

Saturday Feb 22

Running 40:00 [3]5.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
Easy run before my long run. Not a lot of room on the road for a runner.

Friday Feb 21

Running 42:00 [3]5.0 mi (8:23 / mi)
Ran slow to recover from swimming; thought long run would be on Saturday with the pending rain moved to Sunday. We got rained on anyways. My upper body was exhausted from all of the shoveling; never added as workout spent about six hours shoveling ourselves and neighbors out. Had so much snow had to find places to throw it.

Thursday Feb 20

swimming 1:40:00 [3]2.0 mi (49:59 / mi)
Lots of kicking in this workout; made for slow per mile time. Arrived late so did not do the whole workout.

Thursday Feb 13

swimming 1:45:00 [3]3.0 mi (35:00 / mi)
Longest distance swam since the accident. Cardo did not hold me back arm and shoulder strength did. Intervals with technique and kicking plus fast 100s.

Wednesday Feb 12

Running 40:00 [1]5.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
Recovery run after Tuesday speed workout.

Tuesday Feb 11

Running 45:00 [4]7.0 mi (6:26 / mi)
Ran 4 X 5 mins with 2 min rest. One plus mile of warm up and cool down. Track had snow on it so ran through the neighborhoods. Had to stay in your group and being the fastest only at about 80% capacity.

Sunday Feb 9

Running 40:00 [3]5.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
New sneakers had to try them out. Slow run to recover from Saturday.
Weightlifting 2:00:00 [5]
Lifted one ton of stone for the backyard. Delivery left on the driveway needed to be carried to the back yard. Lifted the stone onto tarp and dragged to the backyard over the snow. Went to the weight room later in the afternoon and lifted more. After that able to bench press 8 X 55 pds.

Saturday Feb 8

Running 2:55:00 [2]20.0 mi (8:44 / mi)
Ran from Grosvenor to the post office. Approx 13 miles through snow and ice so slowed the pace down. One person in the group fell and dislocated his thumb.

Friday Feb 7

Running 50:00 [2]6.0 mi (8:20 / mi)
slept:8.0
Ran part in the snow; much slower footing. Neighborhoods are still bailing out so some places are in good shape and others have not been touched. Vlad, I'm training. Just enough snow to ski on; all the schools are out and work is in. Wore my trail shoes gave good traction in the snow, plus kept my feet warm. Ran through some deep puddles hidden under the snow.

Thursday Feb 6

Running 48:00 [1]6.0 mi (7:59 / mi)

Tuesday Feb 4

Running 1:15:00 [4]7.0 mi (10:42 / mi)
Ran 1.5 mile warm up and cool down. Ran 6 X 800 with 400 jog in between. Times 314, 318, 312, 314, 318, 314. Lights all of a sudden turned off in the middle of the fifth 800; ran without looking at watch much to dark to read until the end. Ran first on all of them and the last two by myself. Others on the track due to the winds were taking turns leading. No one for me to run with as I was the fastest on the track. Next group was 10 secs behind. Did some plyos so that time is added in.

Sunday Feb 2

Orienteering 2:38:22 [3]9.4 km (16:51 / km) +340m 14:16 / km
Very tired this time orienteering after a long run the day before. Contributed to some of the mistakes during the run. My legs were rather dead. Monday will be a day of rest.

Saturday Feb 1

Running 2:21:21 [3]18.0 mi (7:51 / mi)
Ran first two miles at 9:20 pace; picked it up after that. Extremely light drizzle. The path was almost empty the whole run.
