Ran along Beach drive.

Lunch time training run. Very loose after the massage last night. Warm enough to run in shorts.

Second run of the day. Had to wait for my experiment to finish.

Ran point to point. Just warm enough to wear shorts. Ran easy and still went through the first mile in 7:50. Slowed down if I went much slower had to change my stride to slow my speed. I did not think this was a good idea; asking to get injured. Never needed to drink much water either. Thought with all of the food would gain weight; think again still 120. slept a lot last night hoping to get up early and run just slept into to catch up on sleep. Monday is massage day.

Easy run first thing in the morning. Saw five sand cranes and a hawk. Somewhat cool morning supposed to be 75 today. Last day here so will wait until Sunday for the long run. Sat in the jacuzzi.

Rented a canoe to see the manatees close up. At times sprinting hard to try and catch some. Normally they move slow and at times can take off. With 87 in the areas saw plenty of them. They are very large and gently bump the canoe as they swim under.

Just ran for time. Probably covered about 5 miles. Ran at night to see all the palm trees decorated with Christmas lights.

Thought I was taking it easy. Even with a head wind ran this speed. Distance measured by car. Ran from the lake back to the house after checking on the airboat rides to see alligators.

Ran through the neighborhoods. Finished with drills.

Tuesday Dec 23

Ran early in the morning. Running along roads decided to go into the Disney World sanctuary. I was all alone for about 2-3 mins when off in the distance I could see a truck flying towards me. It was Disney and they were not happy I was running on their property. He was rather nasty and then I pointed out to him no signs whatsover are posted that this is private property or no trespassing signs. I did not even know I was on Disney property!! Then he shut up. I ran back out and finished my run on the roads. The weather was in the low 50's with about 80% humidity. Legs felt better after a good nights rest. Will probably use the jacuzzi this eve.

Ran in 60 degrees with low humidity. Running was flat, flat and flat. Only time so any elevation change was running over the highway overpass. Ended with some drills. Looking for crocidiles and armadillos the whole time and never saw any. Felt good.

Ran on the trail starting from Seneca creek. Had to run out and back. Ran 47:30 out able to maintain same speed on the way back despite having to fight the wind that was lower because I was in the valley. ran first mile in 7:45 so slowed down a bit; ended up running the last mile in 7:49. Did not feel like I was trying that hard. Only saw a couple of dog walkers for the whole run.
Weightlifting 1:00:00 [3]
Lifted mostly for my legs; able to do some upper body lifting; tough to grip the weights with my left hand because of the finger. Did more abs also vs other times.

Friday Dec 19

Trail run. Trail was wet, icy and muddy but still lots of fun to run on. Back on the steroids after my finger filled with fluid yet again. Not sure what I am coming into contact that only one finger fills with so much fluid that it will rupture with clear fluid and blood. Looks like scalding syndrome. But at least when it ruptures it stops the pain, but not the itch that goes to the bone. ran easy and never wiped out.

Cold day. Bowled at night. The lane was dry so only bowled my average. We are still in first place as we easily beat the other team.

ran in a cold rain. Easy mileage base. seem to feel somewhat better running in the cold now versus earlier.

time to start training. Lots of ice on the roads so slowed me a bit.

Set the treadmill on the gym at 7.5 mph and went. At times just to make it interesting added grade between 0.5 and 1.0. Thought it might be a good idea to get used of being on the treadmill as more of my runs might end this way. Planned to run the MCRRC race it was cancelled due to the weather.
Cross training 30:00 [3]
Shoveled snow that was water logged. This was heavy even for me. Snowplow came by so had to bail out to move the car plus the drains were clogged so had to dig those out so the street would not be flooded. Went to the bowling alley afterwards this seemed to be the place to go it was mobbed with adults and kids just trying to get out of the house. I just threw at pins; it keeps everyone guessing.

Warmed up outside and then finished the workout on the treadmill. Look like the way I will be training this winter. It has mirrors all around so you can so how ugly or not so ugly your form is. did some drills on the basketball courts.

Icy in places still managed to move along OK. With three layer on I was a bit warm. Time to pull out the army long underwear. Says it works great to -10....I'll see.

Worked more on my legs. Did lots of squats. Benched press also, with no one spotting me only used 70 pds. Weightroom really crowded had to pick and choose because weights were being used. I rec'v a surprise call a couple of days ago when I was nominated by my club for runner of the year.

Ran around in the woods. Snow in places about one foot deep so made the running a little tougher. Never could warm up even with my ski jacket on. Cold and miserable the whole time! No idea how much distance I covered.

After bailing out of the woods just walked in the road. Talking with some other people that were out for a walk so opted not to run. Not sure how far I walked just happy to be back to a warm car and dry socks. When I woke up this morning did not really want to go, went anyways; wished I stayed home and went for a long run around the house.

Easy run on the roads and some on snow covered trails. Shoveled snow; not heavy enough to call it training; when we get 22 inches I will add it.

Friday Dec 5

Some snow on the ground. Light cold rain while running on the roads and trail that are very wet. Taking it easy before starting another round of training. Bowled last night after missing a week for the holiday. I started with a 135, almost a disaster, and then started to bowl like I knew what I was doing. Made one of my goals which was to bowl over 200 within one year from starting. Finished with a 193 and a 203. Bowled all strikes and 9/. HIt the pocket everytime. Legs feel real good even with the cold weather.

ran with someone at work. The temp outside was 45 and windy; felt so so cold, otherwise felt fine running.

Slow day. Much colder today and windy. Mailed this month's mortgage payment to the BAA and made my reservations at a local B&B.

Had much more strength then usual. Increased weight for upper body and for leg lifting.

Ran a little faster just to stay warm. Somewhat windy and a tad bit to cold for shorts and singlet. Very stiff from all of the driving; tonight is massage anyways. Miss the warm weather of the south.
