Orienteering 1:15:28 [1] 6.1 km (12:22 / km) +210m 10:33 / km

Beer Chase. I ran the sober run we were given soda water to drink which I really hate! Drank it anyways and in my rush to get moving my e punch fell off my finger and I did not realize it initially. I thought I felt it come off on the way to #1 so I looked briefly thinking it was right on the ground did not see it so kept going and pin punched my map for the first loop. When I picked up map #2 it was sitting on my map so I was able to punch the rest of the way. Felt tired for about the first 20 mins then I finally loosened up and moved better. The weather was much warmer then the last week and I surprisingly adjusted well to it. Don caught me early in the course and we stayed together for most of the first map. After that I was very alone running the rest of the course. All the soda water felt awful and I was hoping I was going to throw up just to get rid of it.

Orienteering 10:00 [1] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

walking and jogging before the race.

Running 2:26:00 [1] 18.0 mi (8:07 / mi)

Ran six miles on pavement, six miles on trails and back to pavement again for the final six. Tried out these other trail sneakers for the upcoming race, just they were bothering my feet so much after 1/2 mile had to turn around and switch to my other sneakers. They felt so good on the trail I probably will just wear these. Luckily REI has a great guarantee if the shoes don't fit right or you run on them and it end's up not being the correct shoe they take them back. They cost $85 made by adidas; probably should stick to manufacturing road shoes (which I like) and leave it to the experts-Montrail to make a good trail shoe. Also ran the whole way without water stopping at the stables for water in and out of the trail. Ended by running up the Mormon Temple Hill.

Cross training 1:00:00 [1]

Spent two hours weeding and cleaning up the yard after running.

Running 1:02:00 [1] 8.0 mi (7:45 / mi)

Felt pretty good considering I lifted last night. In places I could get mile splits I was running miles in the low 7:40's. Got caught for a while in a few intersections so this probably helped me rest up a bit.

Running 46:00 [1] 6.0 mi (7:40 / mi)

felt much better today. I was rather stiff yesterday from the weightlifting so one day to loosen up allowed me to train much quicker.

Weightlifting 1:00:00 [2]

Exercised the body parts that I ignored on Monday. Ended with 200 sit ups.

Running 48:00 [1] 6.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

easy run. I can feel some of yesterday's weightlifting just after taking off a month I knew I would feel it.

Weightlifting 1:00:00 [2]

Spent a lot of time lifting for my legs which really needed a good workout. Ended with 200 sit-ups.

Running 51:00 [1] 6.0 mi (8:30 / mi)

ran four miles on pavement, one mile on trail and ended by running off trail for one mile. Just started to rain as I finished. Starting to think of doing a 40 mile race in WV for a training run. Probably will walk parts just to get through it.

Bike riding 10:00 [1] 3.7 mi (2:42 / mi)
ahr:110

Went easy on the stationary bike just to loosen my legs up after weightlifting.
