Orienteering (Kooyoora) 1:20:00 [3]

Not totally sure but this could be my first official event for the year.
77min but was comfortably 14min down on Brodie Nankervis
Hit the first control nicely. On the massive second leg into the green I lost focus and once I had regained it I was navigating myself to number 6. Hit it pretty well but I was a long was from 2.
Then on I was moving pretty slowly in super junkie forest and hot conditions. Another solid error later in the course as well.
In some regards I was orienteering ok. but my terrain running legs and map reading skills (if I ever had any) seem like a distant memory.

Running 25:00 [3] 4.6 km (5:26 / km)

Hobble around the block. Left Hammy tight as, knees feel heavy but still nice to get out.

Running (Melbourne Marathon) 2:54:04 [3] 42.2 km (4:07 / km)

Very happy to tick the sub 3hr box.
Rather late to the start so I was at the back of the field. I spent the first 5k dodging people and running on the foot path down st kilda road. Not ideal.
First 1k in 4'22 then settled down to 3'55-4'00k for next 12k or so.
13-23k I relaxd and dropped pace to around 4'05.
Half Mara 84'49 feeling ok.
Had a nice chat to Robbie and Cathryn at 23k. Continued to pass people but I was slowing to 4'05-4'10.
Held this pace until 36k, I was coming undone very quickly especially after the tan hill. My poor legs were so sore and battered and giving me lots of grief. I held tight for what felt like the longest and sorest 6k I've ever done at 4'20-4'25.
Great experience, very lucky to have some super cheering on the side lines and proud of Claire who did a flying 3'16.
