Running 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)

Jog around Port Lonsdale trails and beach with Claire and Andy (for a bit). Down at Bellarine Peninsula for Dion and Georgias wedding last night. It was the end of a 4wk alco detox for me but I seemed to get back on the wagon fine last night. not 100% this morn.

Orienteering 50:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:00 / km)

7x2.5min terrain ints at Studley park.

Cool session set by Rob which involved reading kooyra legs during the int and narrating your route/key points along leg during the recovery.

Felt like a good tech session too.

Running 50:00 [3] 11.0 km (4:33 / km)

Past the G and lap of the Tan. Dark but a nice morning for it. This run reminded me of the tokin 5am runs I was doing same time last year during Larder Section heyday. Somewhat reminiscent but also thoughts of how much better health I'm in.

Running 50:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:00 / km)

MUAC
3x7min 3min recov around Prini Park.

The instructions were 10min but I couldn't handle this idea and thankfully RobB and IanL agreed to 7min.
Distances
2.08k (3'22), 2.00k (3'30) 1.93k (3'37)

Big drop off in pace by the end but I was just happy to get through the session.

Orienteering 1:33:30 [3]

I've been pretty keen on this racing in the calendar.
Tried to O like I did 6 yrs ago but couldn't pull it off
9am start so all by myself for this. To number 1 I decided to head low out of the green but I lost touch with the map mid way and lucky to hit the clearing just near the control. I wasn't 100% sure though and then I couldnt navigate the final 100m and found myself on another bare rock hill. 2min lost or so. Perhaps lucky with so little lost time. But it was the start of some bad habits. 2 I hit the attack point and lost direction into the control. 2 more min. 3 was ok. 4 meant more time lost in the control circle. 5 more time lost 150m south of the control. I was getting really frustrated at this stage. Hit the next 3 ok before another 30secs at 10. I knew I was physcially going ok and enjoying most it so kept running hard.
Long one to 11 I went left up the gully but seems most went the track. 2min down on simon for this which is probably a combo of speed and route. More control circle mistakes on 12,15, 16 and 20.
I hit 3 controls well towards the end 17,18,19 and the splits looked good so that made me feel a bit better about the whole thing.
Long way to improve before Easter to be more competitive but cool to be back.
