Looking back at the splits we were neck to neck.
Disaster 3/4 of the way through when I impaled my right big toe on a stick. Wish I'd listened... Inov-8 x-talons aren't tough enough.
It was impressive to have two puncture wounds but not so impressive trying to get my shoe off in the middle of the bush then hobbling back in a pool of blood.
Looks and feels like a clean wound so hopefully it's ok and will do my best to have it better by Easter.

Wanted to concentrate on technique practice rather then speed. So really concentrated on memorising long legs and drawing quick before the next int.
In the dark and half way through I twisted my right ankle on the trails. The left hamstring/glute was causing some grief as well so it was a pretty easy hobble home.

more festivities last night so not feeling awake or 100% again, my expectations were low. So happy with times in the end.
